I just tried UL'ing via the web interface, and I found that it does not get my keywords that I added in the standard "keywords" IPTC field.

Strangely, it DOES get the keywords I added in Bridge (which are there just for my own use; they aren't my "real" keywords).

Does it do better via ftp?  Has anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks!

I just tried FTP, and not surprisingly, it acts the same way.

It does pick up the title & description from the IPTC data, but not the keywords.

Am I the only one experiencing this, or is it a well-known problem?

Hmm. not sure what field you are using.  I keyword in Photoshop (I suppose the same as bridge) and haven't had any problems.

I'm using the "Keywords" field.  ;D

Here's what I've learned, and it is very strange:

I use IrfanView to edit my IPTC data. It works for all sites (except VMP), as well as DeepMeta, and Windows Explorer (i.e., the keywords show up in the "Tags" column when viewing the directory).

However, loading a file into PS4 and looking at "File | File Info", the IPTC tab is empty except for fields populated in Bridge. In Bridge, I see these, but I also see the title and description (but still no keywords other than the few I add in Bridge).

I can't understand what is going on, but it is consistent. I've tried numerous files, and they all act similarly.

Ok, so I finally (think I) understand what's going on.

Title, description, keywords, and other such data may be in TWO DIFFERENT places within a .jpg file!

The standard place is in the IPTC data. This is where I have been storing the information, and it is readable by most applications (but not Adobe's) and most microsites (but not VMP).

The other place is XMP data. XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) is an Adobe standard, so perhaps it isn't a big surprise that Adobe apps use that instead of the industry standard IPTC data.

The only mystery remaining for me is why Veer attempts to get XMP data but not IPTC data. (I assume, but don't know, that most other sites try to get both.)
