I am thinking maybe veer misjudged the Vector EPS issue. At first I though it is OK to offer vectors for a flat 20 credits price but it is not turning out to be a good idea. Not for me at least.

All my vectors are 20 credits on Veer and there is no cheaper buying options for customers. You either pay 20 or not buy the file at all.

I am thinking maybe vector files should be offered in various jpeg prices?

What do you think anyone? Flat fee of 20! Isn't it a bit too much? Yes there are buyers who will pay that but not everyone.

I am saying this because It is very unusual that I have no sales at veer yet. It's been 4 days now. I am used to see my files selling like hot cakes ;D

Do you think veer is worse than BigStock and 123rf where I usually make double the payout limit?

I mean is veer really that bad for you guys as well? Or is 20 credits flat fee too much for customers who can find similar and cheaper JPEG solutions alongside our vector files at veer?

If you rate Veer much worse than BigStock and 123rf, than there is not much to discuss. But if you guys place veer anywhere near those two, then I think I am right and jpeg sizes of vectors should be offered as well..

I would say give them a month or two. It just launch this week but we don't know if they publicised the launch or not yet. Buyers will have to adjust too since it's a new offering to them. We're also in the middle of the summer holidays.

They are launching a new service (for Veer) and I'm sure they will closely follow what happens over the next few months to see how it is going and that they will make some adjustments to different things. It is not an easy thing to do. I'm sure if they see that vector sales are sub-par, they will try to improve it and maybe add options but seriously... 4 days... Give them 4 months (or one year) then compare with the other sites.

I understand what you are saying and all but I didn't have any summer slowdown.  :)

We will have a good idea in a month I guess.

I don't think it has anything to do with "being like 123 and BigStock" or whatever you said, but I also am a little worried about the flat 20 with no other options. I misunderstood earlier conversations and for some reason was expecting to see jpeg options with vector being the highest price option. I have had a good number of views on my small mostly vector portfolio but no sales. I have no problem believing there are people willing to spend $30 on a vector file, but I don't think all my vectors are worth that. ;)

I think however that it is way too soon to judge for sure. Corporate accounts need a chance to get PO numbers to purchase credits, and it's only been a few days. They have been doing all the right things with marketing the launch so I'm fine holding out for a good while before panicking, especially with only a small portfolio at the moment. I worried every time istock raised the vector prices, but my sales barely missed a beat for a long time.

Exactly what I thought. I was actually quite surprised at first not seeing jpeg options.

Let's brainstorm a bit.

Firstly, istock sells them for like 10-15 credits most of the time. Veer sells them for 20 (-1)
Secondly, on istock there aren't many jpeg options they can get instead of our vectors, in veer there are (-1)
Finally, as you said some files are easily worth 20 and some are even worth much more than that, and they will sell for 20 easily, when it is their turn. But not all the files. Yes all vector files should be 20, I agree, but we should also have jpegs in different resolutions just like jpeg illustrations on veer has many options (of course with vector being the highest priced option)

dreamstime imo is perfect when it comes to pricing. Better selling files are more expensive.

On the other hand, as you said as well, we should wait for a while before making any statements. It is just brainstorming what we are doing here.

Whatalife - you didn't misunderstand. We just didn't get it in this release.

Adding rasterized JPEGs of .EPS Vectors is an important feature for our customers, and for you. It's coming - it's on our roadmap.
Right now we've got lots of really important enhancements - it's likely this is going to have wait a bit. Most likely this is coming in the fall.  Patience.  ;)

When this is launched - as mentioned in prior discussions, we'll have the full slate of JPEG options in all sizes from 1-20 credits.

Also - the big marketing push isn't for another month yet.  ;)

I don't mind waiting ;)

As long as it is coming.
