I had never tried Veer and decided to put up some images. I put up 260 , 230 got in. It took some long I lost interest in putting up more of my portfolio. I put up ok sellers but the at Veer next to no views and no sales. Is the customer base low? DO new contributors' images get put low in best match to a slow death?

Sales have been slow for me at Veer, and since Christmas have stopped completely. I hope others are doing better.

It seems slow for most. I was wondering if it is even slower for new contributors. At SS your new files get seen and have a chance to succeed . Veer they seem to be lost until review and then almost lost after that.

Two ELs and a couple of regular vector downloads all in January has taken me over the payout level for the first time.
I'm going to upload to them more frequently, I believe they stand a chance

ETA: Just checked and noticed another vector sale since yesterday - so far that's eight sales this month of which two are ELs, and that's with 37 images online. Prior to January I didn't even get one sale a month, so either they are really starting to pick up or this is my lucky month.

definitely slow over there for me.

Shutterstock model encourages people to look at the latest uploaded to fill their all they can eat formula.
I'm sure some people just download their daily quota from what they like when browsing with nothing particular in mind.

My photo sales at veer show no relation to the age of the photographs

I get fairly regular sales there, but nothing huge yet.

It seems their backlog from the 'Dash for Cash' contributor drive is all caught up now, and we're back to around 7-10 day review times.

It may be that they're assessing where they are with freshly expanded collection before starting a new marketing drive.  I'm sure Brian will drop in and tell us shortly... he's usually quick to respond to any Veer discussions.

One thing that bothers me though is that I can never find the information I want to find...

"Dashboard", "Workspace", "Member page" and new menus popping up all the time - "The Skinny" ? "The Fat" ? "Ideas Home" ? "Manage Trash" ? What trash ? "Portfolios" ? Not my portfolio obviously. It seems you really need to sit down for a while and teach yourself to navigate through the labyrinth

What happened to the good old "Earnings", "Upload" and "Request payment" ?

I did okay there over a year ago when I was first on the site.  Not great, but some regular sales.  I had quit and removed my port when I thought I was going exclusive at IS (LOL!).

I rejoined a few months ago and have managed to get just over 500 on the site.  So far only 5 sales, so it is very slow for me.  I don't know if the site sales are down or if I lost search position when I quit and this is just what it's like starting from scratch.

I am continuing to upload there, despite slow sales, in hopes that once I finally get a significant portion of my images on the site my sales may improve.  The fact that it is no longer Veer Marketplace, and the micro images are mixed in with the main collection, gives me some optimism.

Well the way things are going with many of the others, I would stick with them, I believe Corbis is a backer so at least they shouldnt have any finance problems.
Besides, I do like their upload system, nice and easy.

Veer has slowly picked up for me. I will say that when they sell something, it's for a pretty good price. Also, some big sales every week or so make the bottom line not bad. They are close to beating FT for me ( which may say more about FT becoming a "subs only sales site").

It does not feel like there is a second largest stock company behind them. After couple years of development (SnapVillage, Veer Marketplace) Corbis is is not in Top Tier. Maybe growth period is over and now market will consolidate and eliminate weakest players.

They're rather more midstock than microstock. Selling seldom, but bigger cash. I just got my latest payout with them, about 180$. I wish the payout limit would be at 50$, though.

I pulled my portfolio quite awhile ago.  I had about 2,000 images and dint make a freakin dime in 1 year.  Waste of time.

Do they still have mass rejections and inconsistent  reviews (by that I mean one batch is mostly acceptance, another batch of similar images is mostly rejections). That was why I pulled my portfolio in the beginning, and there's no point in re-applying if if the review process hasn't been improved.

That was one of my big issues with them too, Allsa, but that seems to have been resolved.  One way I resolved it was to group similars and upload them together, that way they can pick and choose what they want and what they don't want.  In 500 submissions so far, I haven't had any rejections this time around.  So I would say the reviews are quite fair and consistent :D

Oh boy, that place really is a maze. I never stay there long, navigating there gives me a headache. Upload, submit and get out.
If the buyers' end is also so complicated they need to simplify things if they want to be a major player in microstock.

It seems that most of their buyers are from the US. This is not good for me, most of my buyers on SS are from Europe.

Thanks, Lisa, I'll re-apply and see how it goes.

Well so far Im in two minds about it. When I join a new site I always test their reviewing/editing skills, uploading a couple of files with thousands of DLs, at other places, if they are approved, then I know that at least they can spot a commercial seller, if rejected then I know they cant and all the rest will fall flat.

In this case both files came back with the "improper editing" excuse?  I thought to myself, well if they cant spot two files with more then 5000, DLs to its credits, blimey! then its really skating on thin ice.

I say this much for the big four,  they CAN spot potential sellers and maybe thats why they are the big four.

They might be good for generic stuff, who knows?

The skinny, the fat and other similar supposedly funny terms are horrible indeed:
it reminds me of another site - (un)lucky oliver - which didn't end very well;

luckily, similarities end here and I have hopes for veer; sales - although not many - are constant, I wouldn't abandon them

I started uploading to Veer in October.  Since then, I've made about $1500 from microstock, and exactly $0 from Veer.  It's gotten to the point where I don't check my stats anymore.

such a headache to navigate that site, I kin dof gave up on them after the highly offensive bait and switch called dash for cash!  They ran out of money for hte dash for cash program halfway through and just started rejecting about half the stuff, If you got in in the beginning 90% was getting accepted if you got in after they ran out of money you got about 50% or more rejection, I spent so many hours getting stuff ready for veer only to have most of that time be wasted, people have since been uploading the rejected dash for cash files only to have them all accepted. I really felt scammed, they knew they could get those images for free after the promotion as most people just re-uploaded them.
