Seems like no one has been talking about Veer lately, maybe for good reason, but... I think it's time for another look, since it's been up a while.

I wanted to compare my performance there vs. the other sites this month, so I went through the ridiculous exercise of going through each page in my port and jotting down my numbers (the sales stat page better come quick!).  Didn't track views, just sales.  Anyway, here's how I've done so far...

Images online: 418
Rejections: 82
Purchases: 21
Revenue: $26.95

That makes Veer #8 of 9 sites for me (Crestock, as always, dead last).  How about everyone else?

Has anyone had better luck getting batches approved lately?  My last two batches got whacked with the "images too similar" stick, all at once.  Many were pretty unique with nothing else similar in the batch or my overall port.  Pretty clear that it's very hit and miss there right now.  I either get a lenient reviewer who will let 30 images in with no problem, or a grump who will reject 30 at once without, it seems, really looking at them.  I want to upload more, since I think the results are at least promising, but refuse to until they figure out what they're doing in terms of approvals.

No problems with approvals so far but I never had a problem with crestock and most people complain about them.  I will wait for a proper veer stats page before looking at sales, 55 pages is too much for me.

So far I'm unimpressed.  Their reviews aren't as vicious as Crestock, but they aren't great either.  586 approved, 305 rejected.  And one lousy sale for .60.  That puts them at #11 for the month, ahead of FeaturePics by .10.  I'll keep uploading a little while longer, but my patience is not unlimited.

I think all new sites should be given at least a year.  They wont do any serious marketing until they have a big collection.  I am not going to try and guess what sales will be like this early on.

I have no idea how many sales I have made on VM.  Not about to check 798 pictures online to see if any sold.

I have by far the worst acceptance rate there of any site.   Never had much problem with crestock or any others except for the occasional rampage by an Atilla reviewer.

I haven't bothered uploading anything else there after being told to group all images from each shoot into the same batch.  Don't want to waste any more time with them until/unless they get their act together.

I did my first 10 and they were approved, but as far as I can tell they aren't online. No views and I can't find them in the search. It has been over a week. Is this normal?

Same, no views any more...

one sale for $1.75 from about 140 online,

acceptances are annoying, very hit and miss, batch accepted then a batch rejected.

I don't have the time or energy to look at my 1400 images on Veer, but I noticed a $38.50 EL sale which I of course liked very much.

Only 61 files online (and far more rejected) so didn't expect much in sales yet, but what is worrying is an almost complete lack of views. Apart from a couple I test viewed myself (to see if the views counter functioned correctly!) I think my views after nearly a month add up to about 3. I had high hopes for Veermarketplace on the basis that Veer itself was long established and had a big client base. I'm getting more views on Yaymicro than here! Not too happy about their search engine either. I have quite a few images of the Greek island of Meganissi on there. Search "meganissi" and you get zero results. Add Greece, Islands etc and you get masses of results with mine sprinkled amongst numerous other Greek islands. Can't quite figure that one out. But still very early days yet, just a bit dissapointed. Reviews, like for everyone else, seem totally random and "luck of the draw" as to what gets accepted. Regards, David.

I also think something is out of whack regarding the very low number of views shown. For awhile I had one sale with zero views. ?? Maybe it's my great reputation that triggered that sale.  ;) Ill bet it's a problem with the software that will be fixed once the sales reporting module is complete later this month.

I finally started making sales recently. Anyone know if your portfolio can be viewed yet? All I can find are profiles, but no way to see my active images.

Has anyone sold newly submitted images or only stuff transferred from Snapvillage?

I have 198 (newly submitted) pics online, no sales and the number of views looks quite poor, too. This is of course a very small sample but to me it looks like Veer marketplace is far away from flying.

Will postpone further uploading until I see more traffic.

I have made a few sales over the last several weeks so I assume my portfolio can be viewed.  All my images are new too.

Since my original post to start this thread one week ago, I have seen five more sales, totaling an additional $2.45.  Size of port remains the same while I wait for the crazy reviewers to settle down and figure out what they want.  For perspective, this puts Veer neck and neck with Crestock ($2.75 in past seven days) for the title of "Worst Performing Agency" for my work.   (CanStock is relative miles ahead of both with $20.85 in past seven days.)

MY VEER STATS TO DATE

so I assume my portfolio can be viewed

I just checked. Did a search for one of my photos. Found it. When I click on my name, it goes to my portfolio page. I still don't see anywhere to click to be able to see all pictures in my portfolio.  :(

If I do it, I get one promising site, one that has fits and starts, and one that's entirely worthless.

In that order.

Elaborating on my previous post, I checked on how these stand as percentages of my total sales to date.

123 = 3%
CanStock = 2%
Crestock = .5%

Once I factor Veer into this mix (if we ever get the sales stat page!), they'll be about tied with Crestock, but that's comparing one month of Veer to one year of Crestock.

but that's comparing one month of Veer to one year of Crestock.

That's the important point people seem to be overlooking. I wonder how some people made it this far without going insane, when they clearly have the patience of an ant.

I have one measly sale with Yay all this year and six sales in the last two weeks with Veer. I think some more patience is necessary for some of us.

Here are my stats:

Images online: 1400
Views: 300
Sales: 13 of which EL Sales: 2 ($35 each / unlimited reproduction)
Earnings: $95.85

One little nice thing about EL sales: It seems that the customer needs to buy first the regular licence, and then the "extension" to addition to that.
Without the ELs the earnings would be quite poor, but hey I don't care if the earnings come from regular or extended licences as long as the money keep rolling in!

Hoping the high views translate into some sales when/if they ever get the rasterized jpeg system online.

I am not expecting anything if I got only 40 views since they are online. No chance to sell anything.

This is far and away the best site to use...elegant and user friendly...some of the others are an ordeal to submit to and make me think twice about bothering.

After less than a week with under 200 images had a sale posted and 30 something views.

This is the one site that I hope makes it into the big 6. The others should learn from their approach.

I've made a little over $20 so far but only have about 150 images up, with just under 900 views. Based on that, I believe the high vector price point seems to be a deterrent, so I'm anxious for them to implement the additional jpeg options for those files.

Once things settle down a bit with my real work, I'll probably finish uploading the rest of my stuff. I've been very happy with the communication and helpfulness of the staff I've dealt with so far.

$12 for the first half of October, I used to be lucky to make $10 all month with SV.  So far I am satisfied with their progress, I don't expect much for the first few months.

I'm doing quite well on Veer - I'm surprised ...

846 images online
3 rejections

$ 160 in October - great for a new site (new site to microstock, I should say)

100 $ in 2 month is ok for a new microstocksite.
4 $ subscription-price for illustrations too !
and also 7 $ for illustrations !
but it's a hard fight with the keyword-system.

I think that this is a very strong beginning and can't wait until they really put some heat and light on this portion of their business. I'm very excited to see where VMP goes in the future.

Last few batches were rejected for keywords. Even when I edited it and cut to a minimum number of keywords, these were rejected for the same reason again. I do not know what to do, they are so strict about keywords.

Still trying to figure out what types of microstock files they want because their selections on what they say they want contradicts alot of the files I get rejected.  Most of them are proven sellers!
