What is the search results order? It seems no matter which subject I search for, especially people related,  I get images from Yuri Arcurs portfolio first:) Does your relevance search go something like this: "show whatever matches from Yuri's porfolio and then everything else"?:-) His stuff is good, no question, but what about the rest of us? I don't think I will be able to sell anything if my images consistently show up on page 25...

The site works fine for me but it would be nice if you did rotate the images when searching for certain images so everyone at a giving time would have their images
in the front pages :)

Elena -

Good question. And no, we haven't built a "Yuri first" search engine.  ;)

Short answer: it's a work in progress.

Longer answer:  Veer Marketplace search results will be evolving over the coming months - not only as new images are moved from SnapVillage to the Marketplace collection - but also as we hit the full Veer Marketplace launch later this year. There's a lot in play here but a few points: it's a limited set of images right now - Yuri has a pretty big chunk - and a very high percentage of his shots are of people. Some of it also has to do with when batches were loaded.

Sort order is complicated - and it's only natural that everyone wants to be on page one. But it's hard to please everyone all of the time.
Having said that - we're looking at ways of creating more movement within results to spread the love (and sales) around.

Will sales at Veer be posted on Snap Village?

Hi Zeus, until Veer Marketplace is fully launched in spring/summer, sales will be reported and paid to contributors via SnapVillage.

Just to clarify Aaron's answer a bit more:

Phase 1 Veer Marketplace sales and royalties reports will be processed every 30 days. Marketplace sales will not be reported "live" on SnapVillage, but you will receive complete sales reports.  Royalties will be paid directly to the PayPal address associated with your SnapVillage account. The full launch will enable sales and royalty reporting tools directly within Veer Marketplace.

Will Veer leave our keywords alone? SV used to alter my keywords for the worst, that's one of the reasons I stopped uploading there.

Am I seeing things correctly? That I can add these images to my cart right alongside images from the macro side, and pay for the whole thing by PO like I always have?

Hi FlemishDreams -

On Veer Marketplace submitted keywords will be mapped to the Veer controlled vocabulary. This will give you all kinds of benefits - taking care of synonyms and spelling variants, and include a plethora of walk-ups and lead-ins. Really powerful/cool stuff that we didn't have on SnapVillage. The Veer CV is deep, so it's very likely most all of your submitted keywords should map no problem.

We'll be working to develop some keywording resources to help Marketplace contributors understand and best utilize the CV.  In the end - it's about presenting relevant results to customers, and ensuring that images have good 'findability'  - both important factors in helping to drive sales.
The new system will be much better suited to achieve those goals.

CV is the way to go, but as the iStock experience learned, it puts a lot of overhead on the contributors (in terms of disambiguation etc), especially since microstock is a numbers game. I'm curious with what you will come up with!

I could be wrong here but this looks like the first major agency that has decided to put its micro offerings on a tab right next to everything else. I'm not sure about Jupiter, I never followed them very closely.

Hm.  Checking on the questionnairre email issue.  Should be resolved soon.

Has this been resolved now? I would hate seeing my input disappear in a black hole again.

Yes, I think it is. The huge difference that I see is that I can use a corporate account and one shopping cart to make purchases seamlessly from the entire collection, micro and macro, with a single PO number, without the clunkiness of having to switch between two payment systems. I don't have to purchase a huge number of credits in advance a la istock corporate and subscriptions. I don't have to make client purchases out of my pocket and then later be reimbursed, a la everyone else.

Sorry to gush.  :D

Well it is big deal, although it can be argued for it's advantages and disadvantages.

No doubt, Zeus, someone will find something to argue about, but from my perspective as a buyer it is a 100% big fat positive thing. ;)

Yes, SV images, user names, accounts, etc. will be moved over automatically.

Will we receive an email indicating when our images, account, etc. are moved over?

I already see most of my SV images moved over.

I had stopped submitting to SV due to low sales, however, I am excited about the prospect of Veer Marketplace and will be closely watching their progress and hope to start submitting again. I like the different product offerings on the same site, this could be an interesting development.

Brian, before I get moved to Veer, if I continue to submit to Snapvillage, will my photos be reviewed? What is the current timeframe for the reviews?

Thanks.
