Hi All -

It's become clear some are confused over the Veer Marketplace launch phases, and when you'll start seeing royalties on content uploaded this week.
Some of you have asked: "my content was approved yesterday. why can't I find it when I search for it?"

Veer Marketplace is being rolled out in 3 major phases:

Phase 1: The current customer-facing Veer Marketplace is still the Phase 1 preview version - with a static collection of content transferred from SnapVillage.  [launched in February, - content was rolled over from SnapVillage over the past few months]

Phase 2: We've just launched the contributor ingest workflow so you can submit your portfolio ahead of the customer release. [went live earlier this week]

Phase 3: A customer-facing launch that unveils a credit-based system, and connects all the pieces and make Veer Marketplace truly and fully live from end to end. [late July]

The sales and royalty reporting tools will be added as we get closer to the Veer Marketplace customer-facing launch (Phase 3).
Content uploaded to Veer Marketplace now cannot be searched or licensed until that launch.

The customer facing launch will include many important elements:

 - a switch to a full credit-based purchase system with credit-based subscription and extended-license options
 - a brand new watermark for all Veer Marketplace content
 - search and sort mechanisms for buyers
 - a robust collection to satisfy Veer customers hungry for great content:  all the new images you are uploading into the system now, plus all of the content transferred from SnapVillage.

Hope this helps.

- Brian

i registered at veer a couple days ago.

I then (6/8/09) tried to register as a contributor but when i hit the reg as contr link, i get an inter explorer message saying unable to reach the site~or something like that.

aslo after i tried to register i noticed, at the top right of the page it says "Your submissions are being reviewed". what sumbissions? Did my snap village port get transfered for review???

Does it mean that new uploads (not SV transfers) are not indexed? Is this the reason why they will not appear in searches until end of July?

Just a question i couldnt find anywhere else answered.
For how much time is the 100 images limit? i mean is that 100 images a week, or until they are reviewed, or what?
Thank you.

I understand it is a weekly limit. This may be revised in the future.

FWIW, I had that "submissions are being reviewed" message on my account too, and I had never been anything but a customer there. I was able to use my same account. You don't have to set up a separate contributor account (unless there is something about newer accounts and mine just worked because it was several years old.)

If you've already set up an account (as you said you did register a couple of days ago), then you should be able to click on "Account" (top right), and then "Your member page". On the right, you should see some links under the Marketplace header.

Hi melastmohican -

Correct.
Newly uploaded content will be unveiled with the customer-facing release in late July.

Any kind of ETA on when the new contributor's content will be available for purchase? Above posts say late July, just checking...getting anxious!

I, too, hope it will be launched on time as promised.

The keyword rejections are frustratint to me. The other site, being IS, does reject over keywording but it points out the specific words. Can Veer MP do the same? If not, the contributor may submit the image and get rejected again, and it's a waste of time on both  agency and contributor.

Well, this can't be good. I just uploaded some more photos to Veer. The message at the end says something like "your files will be available for download later this summer". I'm pretty sure it used to say "late July". I could be wrong, but...

I'm pretty sure it has always said summer. I think I posted it somewhere before in response to a question someone asked.

I don't think anybody will die if it is in august. I prefer they launch it flawlessly in august than with a lot of bugs in july. As long as it is online for the big fall season.

I would prefer they launch it NOW without bugs.  ;D

Yeah me too... I am officially crownless now, so any time really soon is okay with me.  ;D

Congrats on the crownless status. Heck, crowns detract from your true self anyway. :)

Thanks, Brian, for the update. I think most of us would prefer to have a stable site on the customer side upon the main launch, and understand that it is better to have the kinks brought to light during the ingestion period than to push the button with no live user testing and have it all suddenly fall apart on the customers (as has been the case elsewhere).

I have made several purchases on the current VMP system and it works flawlessly (as integrated with the main Veer collection cart), but I realize the new launch will be a completely new deal so I'm remaining patient and confident that it will be as error-free as possible when it does happen.
