Thanks very much for the info.

I guess it's good that there is a 100/week limit at the moment. It seems they have all they can handle for now.

A question for those who were not part of the initial SV migration and who just applied and were accepted last week with their initial 10...

Have any of you had files reviewed beyond your initial 10 application files? I'm just curious what the average turnaround time is for regular inspections.

Hi Whatalife -

The oldest files from approved contributors in the submission queue are about 5 days "stale" now.
We're working to ramp up efficiency to keep our turnaround time at or below the current mark.

I had 87 images approved either today or yesterday (not sure which).

They aren't showing in search results yet.  Not sure if I have to do something to make that happen or if it will be when their servers update next.

Lisa, I think unless you were part of the initial SV migration, the files that are being uploaded now will be part of the release later this summer. Brian explained it more thoroughly in his "clarification" thread.

ETA link:

There is also a pop-up message during uploading that says they will "be available to customers later this summer."

Ahh.  Thanks!

I have been trying to keep up, but so much info floating around I missed that... :)

You're welcome! It was a little confusing.

I submitted 10 files on June 10 and they are still in the Q. I am not an SV migratee. I am sure they are busy, too. So I have been patient. Glad the questions were asked, was about to ask them myself.

Looks like it should be any time now.

Received word today. All 10 rejected. Here's the reason:

Based on these 10 images, we can't offer you contributor privileges at this time. You are welcome to submit 10 new images

Without a more specific reason as to what is wrong with my images, it would be foolish to spend any more time.

Am I missing something? I uploaded 10 of my best sellers on other sites. Images submitted to Veer don't have to be exclusive do they? It's ok to post images that are sold royalty free on other sites, right?

I am so bummed.

No, they don't have to be exclusive.

That's really surprising, Cathy. You have a nice portfolio. I wonder if different shots would be better... but I agree it would be helpful to have a little bit of guidance as to what they disliked about the first ones you sent.   ???

It seems that people have a pretty big difference in their first experience with the first application and subsequent uploads. I would like to believe that Cathy's rejection was just a glitch.
I am wondering what it the number of images to be approved out of the first 10 for the whole application to be approved? Some people assume that it is 10. I only had 4 approved and 6 still pending when I was pproved and could submit more. Anyone had a similar experience?
By now, I already have quite a few approved so they have been approving the ones submitted later as well.

My experience:  8 out of 10 accepted on the initial submit, then I was allowed to submit the next 100 which I did.  That was yesterday, today I was allowed to submit another 10, I was under the assumption that I would have to wait another week to submit another 100 but who knows for sure.

*** This was not my application submission, I was pre-approved for VEER ***

 >:( Brian~

I think I may have received a questionable review.  All my images were rejected for the SAME reason..." Pixel quality issue (noise, compression or resizing artifacts) ".  Why I believe something went wrong is because each image was not related to the other.  They are ALL from separate photo shoots (with the exception of 1).  In addition, ALL of these images have been approved on other sites, many of which have an EXTREMELY tough review process.  Could someone please look into this.... here are just a few examples.

Thanks, I just wanted to confirm something strange didn't occur with my upload because I'm having a difficult time believing these images truly have issues with artifacts or pixel quality.  Please help.....

Hopefully it was a glitch and Brian can take a look for you.

Leaf should probably consider closing one of these threads if the duplicate postings continue.

How many are needed before acceptance?

Does this mean that the review was weighted on all 10 images and not individually?
Does this mean that I have to have all 10 images accepted before I get contributor privileges?

I did email contributor help and Ryan send a prompt message back:

I believe it simply came down to an overall aesthetic choice by our editor. We're trying to set ourselves a bit apart from the many pre-existing microstock websites and so we're trying to offer a tighter, more curated set of images for those coming to our site to purchase.  Because of this, it may mean that images that have been accepted on other sites (even images that have sold well) will not be accepted on Veer Marketplace.

I can definitely see potential on some of the images you had submitted, nice bright colors and white backgrounds on some of the utilitarian object shots,  but the horse riding image was a bit to snapshot-like, the drive-in theatre was a bit washed out, and the last few images of food seem to be a bit off exposure-wise.

As our initial editor mentioned, you are more then welcome to submit a new set of ten images at anytime.  Our intention is not to scare folks off from submitting to us, but we do want to create a specific look and feel, so our acceptance levels may be a different then some other stock sites.

While Ryan did provide a little more insight, I'm just not sure what else to submit. If you look at my IS port and sort by downloads, I basically submitted 10 from the 1st page. I think I will have to check out the site and some your ports to see what is acceptable.

Good God, another microstock site with erratic reviews/reviewers? I hope not. With StockXpert headed for the dump, I was hoping to pick up another good site.

Hi jcpjr -

Correct.

We evaluate all 10 submissions from a new contributor as a whole to determine whether we feel they are a good fit with VeerMarketplace. If the strong majority ( 7 or more )  of the 10 are considered acceptable, we pass the account. If not - we decline, and reject all 10 files.

i had my 10 firs approved in a couple of days, and the next day i uploaded 100 more and all are aproved now, dont keep the count of days but it was less than a week.
What i really like is that when an image doesnt meet their keyword criteria, the image got back to the workarea with a note on the problem and you can just delete the irrelevant words and send again to review, How sweet is that?

today my limit was improved to 106??? i uploaded 58 in the morning and now i can upload 74 more???

One thing i dont know is about model releases, i have some photos of a frien who at the time signed some MR from other stocks agencies, could i use some of that MR?, because she lives in another city so far away...

I'm very pleased with the ease of uploading.  I had my first batch of 25 approved in about a week, and just dumped another 100 on.

Is an affiliate or referral program going to be coming anytime soon, to refer contributors?

Yes, that alone deserves a mention for sure. It's clean and simple process and works for the contributors' convenience, instead of having to resubmit and all that hassle. Veer's upload process is certainly exemplary and some of the Big 6+3 should take note of this.
I am a late comer, as I waited till 10th to get in to transfer my SV port, then submitted my first 20 odd new images. This morning I had my first 10 reviewed , with 1 reject and 2 soft rejects.
It took me a couple of minutes to delete the irrelevant keywords and resubmit. The reject was also nice and neat, (no vague condescending nor those ubiquitous canned irritants eg. this is a snapshot; too simplistic; LCP, one of the following, etc.
Phew~!  a breath of fresh air.  Veer Marketplace, you rock!

Now we wait for some encouraging news of downloads  ;)

I submitted my 10, and waited about 10 days.  Today, it shows that they are all rejected, but no reason is shown as to why.

It states "specific reasons for rejection are noted below" but there is nothing listed, and the individual pictures only show "Based on these 10 images, we can't offer you contributor privileges at this time. You are welcome to submit 10 new images".

Is there another place to look for the reason, or have I hit a bug?  I can't correct an error if I don't know what it is.
