It is all relative.  Can anyone see another site launched last year that is doing better than VeerMP?  They are in the "up and coming" section of the poll here, that is amazing for a relatively new site.  I don't know if they have started marketing the site seriously yet and how ambitious they are but with Corbis behind them, I will keep uploading.  Not had any big problems with rejections yet.  Some reviewers are stricter than others but that is the same with most sites.  I upload small batches and most of them are being accepted.  They have their quirks but overall I think they are doing much better than SV so far.  If they do get aggressive with marketing and Corbis really is interested in microstock, they could be in the top 4 sites by the end of 2010.

From a marketing perspective - you all are correct, we've barely begun and there hasn't been much at all. This will change later this year.
While I know it looks like we are quiet now - I can tell you we are working hard behind the scenes on some great stuff. And that 2010 is going to be a big year.
We'll definitely give our contributors a heads-up on marketing and traffic generating initiatives as things get rolling.

I remember reading somewhere that Veer pays whatever money you made by the end of the year. Can someone please confirm this, thanks.

I used to have acceptance rate ~80% at Veer last year until December.
Submission during last month, ~60 pictures in 2 or 3 batches - 100% rejects.

maybe it was the Xmas hired help and not the regular reviewers who massacred your batch.
(whisper... Atilla and her children, perharps? )  ;D

no, seriously, i think ithe site design that is not so user friendly could play a part in Veers trouble to take off as they hoped.  many times i still needed to fart around looking for the link to get to where i want to be.

i wish all sites take a lesson from IS , as they have to be the most user friendly site.

i find it is just the new sites that tend to design the most complicated navigating sites .
maybe all those video game nerds are getting the contracts to design these new stock sites ::)

It was posted in this thread on a previous page. Confirmed at Veer site:

When will I be paid?
The minimum threshold for payout is $100.00. Royalties will accrue until you surpass $100. If you dont happen to hit $100 during the year, youll automatically receive payout of any accrued royalties after the close of the calendar year.

You will be paid 15 days following the month your accrued royalties surpass $100. So if you made $50 in March, and $75 in April, you will be paid $125 by May 15th. If you made $105 during the month of June, you would receive payment on July 15th.

Based on the delay structure, I would assume we could expect our 2009 payments to be distributed by January 15. I hadn't remembered seeing that, so that is a nice surprise and I'll look forward to it. :)

I received a payment advice as well. However, it shows that they have made deductions for 'tax withholdings'. I live in the USA with an SSN, have previously been paid through Snapsvillage and Veer marketplace without these incorrect deductions. So why now?

Yeh I'm pretty sure they messed mine up as well.  I live in Canada and am pretty I filled in a W-8BEN form. They too deducted withholding tax. I too never had problems before. What is going on with the micro industry lately regarding the with holding taxes any way? So much stumbling around.

Yup, just got my payment notification as well $1.75 (no tax deductions). Hope to buy a small bar of chocolate tomorow ;D Seriously, all due respect to Corbis for paying out any earnings at the end of the year, regardless of the amount. They always did this at Snapvillage as well. It's an example to other sites that just hang on to the money earned. Regards, David.

For me it was $11.55 with no withholding tax deducted.  As an American living in Germany that is correct.  Happy they got it right.

$49.85 here and nothing withheld. I'll be happy to get it, and will try not to think too much about how long it took to accrue.  ;)

Did you submit the W-9 form on their site?

I also got my payment advice, no deductions made. US resident with SSN here.

I am in the US and don't show any taxes being withheld.

Goldenangel is right, you should probably fill out the W-9 if you haven't already.

Also go the Payment Advice Note.

Does anyone know where they are sending the money? A cheque? Or Paypal/MoneyBroker?

i've been noticing this across the board lately - sites tossing out slick new websites but not bothering to beta test them thoroughly with actual users
