Author Topic: Many refunds at videoblocks (smells bad)  (Read 3482 times)

I wanted to ask tou guys if you had this experience with videoblocks.
I am 6 months contributor at videoblocks and i had more then 10 refunds which inever had on any other agencies?
I start to fill that something is weird and so good.
I satrted with conspiracy theories that maybe they are saying to me that i have refund but they are keeping the money to themselves and basically no one can really know if ther was realy refund.
In all 5 years that i am in this industry i had maybe 2-3 refunds on all the sites together
Can someone calm me and say that i am just paranoid?

I sent them my concerns about to many refunds and tgey got back to me with this explanation which now i can understand better the situation:
Thanks for reaching out! We have had occasionally refunds at VideoBlocks and these are due to a few different factors. Very rarely, we have customers that confuse the two libraries between our unlimited libraries and the marketplace. A customer may not understand they are making an actual purchase- and purchase a clip thinking they are downloading a file. In this case if a customer reaches out or we detect an unwanted purchase, we have the ability to refund a customer if the clip was not downloaded. If in these cases the clip was downloaded, we don't allow for refunds.

Lately we've seen some fraudulent activity on the website when a customer's information is compromised outside of our site and then used on VideoBlocks. Were right there with you and not thrilled with these individuals committing fraud as it violates the rights of everything we work for as creators, but we will promise to continue to pour our efforts into beefing up security prevent these occurrences going forward and dont expect instances like this to continue.

Although there have been refunds, our development and finances teams are working on this as we speak to cut these out entirely. We're still here to be the best marketplace out there will continue to improve in every area we can!

One 4K refund a few weeks back and simultaneously a 4K sale of the same clip which left me with (thankfully,temporary) symptoms of manic depression :)
Still not good for an agency with such growth to report or even accept refunds unless there is an extremely serious reason to do so,which i believe is the minority of reasons for a refund.

Clock is still ticking for me to even get a sale.....not a sale since Oct, not even a bogus sale to boost my morale :'(
