Hi! I'm a bit worried about my footage on videoblocks. I didn't have any sale in two months (although before that my footage was selling pretty good). I wanted to check if my files appear in search results and they are. What is strange that if I sort the  search results by most downloaded then my file is on first place but I had no single sale on videoblocks of this particular file and the similar file I sold there was below this file. Are those search results "made up" or is there possibility that my file was sold and I never got any info/commission?

Since you get almost 100% of the clip price you can easily check their concealment of your sales simply by buying your own content. Any other conspiracy theories will remain theories.

I delete all my footage port on Videoblocks. 6 month with more than 300 footages and no single download! On SS, FT I have more than 50 dls.
Just do not trust them more!

I'm not going to delete anything from there for now since I got some nice 4k sales . It's just weird that there are my files in most downloaded search results that I've never sold on VB. I thought that maybe somebody else had similar situation and maybe it's just their website algorithm makes false results.

Is that 50 downloads on each of those sites per month, or 50 downloads across all sites over six months?

If it's the former, then it does seem pretty strange that you had no sales at VB. If it's the latter, then I've found that sales are comparatively low at VB compared to elsewhere.... I was only getting two sales a month for the first six months, three sales a month for the last couple.

Maybe you should have waited it out a bit. No massive loss in terms of time or energy by keeping them on the site.

I'm on a cycle as I've said a few times before in other threads.  In July I had a 10-12 video run on VB, then nothing in August and so far nothing in Sept.  This scenario is not a one time occurrence.  It happens over and over again. 10-12 sales in a month, then no sales for the two following months, then 10-12 sales again the next month. It's happened since I joined when they started up.

I have noticed a few inconsistencies on their site, I even got over-credited once. I sent them a quick email and the reply was fast and friendly. Sure they arent a steady seller like SS but they have always been friendly and open as far as I can tell. If you have an issue why not ask them directly?

Agree with you. Very good response times and some posts in here.

Do you think they'll get added to the microstock poll at some point? I'm assuming the only reason they haven't been already, is that they just do video. Currently, anyway. Would be interesting to see the score. They're the third best selling site for me currently.

Best month ever on Videoblocks. I had two sales in February, March, April, May and June... three sales in July and August... and I've just had my fourth sale for September. Hopefully they'll keep going up. Or stay the same... either will do.

I don't understand one thing - if they offer "Unlimited downloads - 149$/year", how they can cover 49$ per clip??

"Join Now
After signing up, you will have unlimited access to the entire VideoBlocks archive. There are no download caps, so you may download and use as much content as you want."

The 'archive' isn't the same as the marketplace. There are a bunch of stuff that are subscription based (unlimited downloads), and the rest, which myself and most here are uploading, is the marketplace, non-subscription stuff... pay per download at $49 for HD.

Yeah, VB is a rollercoaster. I had 4 nice ones in August, 0 so far in Sept... And all the sales usually happen 2-3 at the same time/same day (totally unrelated content). Then quiet for a long time. It's a bit out of the ordinary I must admit, just a tad bit suspicious, but I've sold some nice stuff there so...

With about 120+ clips at that moment i had three sales like: Apr. 29. 2016; Apr. 22. 2016; Mar 20, 2016 all HD for 49$ (-1.84 transfer and -14.15 tax withheld). Since then no sales whatsoever, its been 5 months from last sale. I am constantly growing, my mostly aerial, portfolio and i have 228 clips by now, have no idea whats going on...

What size are your portfolios? I know it is the content that sells...

Thanks for the info!

May I ask which type of content do you sell in VB, footage from camera or motion graphic animations?
