open file for a complaint against Yay micro

(1/3) > >>

Fogbird:
This is qualified deceitfulness, grift. Why don't we open file for a complaint legally to the relevant authorities against Yay micro?

dpimborough:
Why what did they do wrong?

I was never happy with the total lack of sales so I deleted my portfolio and said good bye years ago.

Fogbird:
copied, they still sell on other sites.
not enough to delete.

"The contributor can delete his or her images at any time by logging in to his/her account, or by contacting YAY. If YAY has uploaded and submitted the images on behalf of the contributor, there is a 2 - two - years quarantine period. An image that has been deleted, will be removed from YAY within 72 hours, unless technical issues occur. If the image is distributed in the partner network, it can take up to 6 months before it is deleted."

Every contributor has the chance to read the terms and agree or disagree before uploading. If a contributor doesn’t read the terms and uploads anyway, how is that YAY’s fault? Stop doing business with every stock company that comes along. If the stock site doesn’t offer opt outs for partner programs, then don’t upload there. Most sites have partner programs and most have terms for those partners much like the above.

Most companies are struggling to make money, and will do just about anything to keep making millions, always at the contributors’ expense. Bear that in mind for future sites coming onto the scene with “exciting news.”

Do I think it’s right what these sites are doing? No.

I see what you mean and I know exactly who that distribution partner is ~ Its Alamy (with their 6 month removal clause) !

I deleted my images from them and from Zoonar only to find a year later they still had them on sale with Alamy!

Alamy were not at all helpful making some BS that due to contractual arrangements yadayada they couldn't remove my copyright images!!!

I had to do all the running with YAY and Zoonar to get them taken down off Alamy.

What a crowd!
