I received confirmation from their support that if you decide to close your account, and you have any money in your account below the minimum payout treshold ($60), they'll KEEP the money.
So make sure you've reached this minimum payout treshold, get paid and only THEN close your account.
The other bad news is that it takes ages to reach minimum payout due to lack of sales, so your money may be kept hostage forever (until they shut down...)

To add even a little more 'spice'... recently it has changed to 'Minimum payout amount is $80.'

And they cannot get your images off of their partner sites.
Most notably they can’t get them off of pngtree.com

When you press "request payout".

"Hansenn" was faster :-) Yes, when you request the payout it shows the $80 message (which has been $60 before)

Payout remains at $25 for me. Maybe it depends how much you sell and they don't want to pay out more than once per month? It used to be $50 for Fotolia but since changing over to Adobe it has been $25 for me.

Ah, thanks. I didn't see that because I only got a prompt to verify my identity and W8-BEN again...
