I asked this question on numerous occasions to different emails of theirs and never received a reply.

So I wrote about the experience.

Received a reply this weekend, not surprisingly it's exactly the answer I didn't want to hear:

"Hi
You would forfeit any earnings accumulated, by closing your account. Additionally the files are permanently deleted and you could not reopen the account at a later time.
Kind regards"

But if they honestly do delete all your files, instead of leaving them up for sale on partner sites, that might be worth the gift of the lost earnings?
