OK, so I joined. Dont really know why But I did. sent them about 2000 images. Nice FTP. everything cool, Then Come to find out I have to upload a Pic of each Model also with the release. I dont have time to resize a pic of 600 models?and upload each one.Is this wierd or what. They dont trust a release. ? If the site were an established Player maybe but it seems a bit much. what you think?

Thanks for the heads up - they were one of my July projects.  Good grief, I don't have time for that either and my port is tiny.  I know that some (like Leaf) have added a small photo to the top of their release all along.

I think I'm not going to join...
Some sites make it really difficult to attach MR's.

I think if you talk about it, theyll listen. That seems a bit unnessesary...

I asked them about it, and they said thats the way it is. No exceptions. I just wonder Why they want this. do they know something That SS or Istk doesn't. They said it's easier for us. Don't think so. They also said Iofoto had no problems. I guess if I had assistants I would have no problem either. Other than that , The upload process is a dream. maybe if I see some movement or talk that others are having sales. I'll get back to them.

since some sites require while others don't, I always attach a snapshot of the model to the release to avoid these issues. The sites are simply trying to cover their butts. Makes alot of sense  when you boil it all down...I'd require it too if i was running a micro. I admit that it is a bit cumbersome but i understand.

Standard practice on most traditional stock sites, I imagine they took that idea and have applied it themselves, especially as I belief some of the management are from a traditional stock background.

And Laurin you must stop exagerating, you've only got 559 photo's on there so far out of which about 50-60 are people shots and some are of a mannequin, so to say 600 models is stretching it a bit!

I hate the photo of the model thing but the truth is, Crestock requires it and it makes it much easier (although I have discontinued uploading there).  I have done it for my Yay files and yes, it's a bit of a pain but I hope they have good plans for it (think Dreamstime's "more images of this model" thing.

Wait until you have to attach every MR to the uploaded image, there goes real fun. They do have batch processor for keywording, but not for MR attaching, you you have to click and attach every MR one by one on every single photo you upload. It is soo annoying.

StockXpert has batch MR attaching system. You can attach MR to 50 images in one click. So it is not mission imposible.

I took the plunge too, after stating "no more startup/small sites for me."  Their website design, tools, and philosophy immediately appealed to me.

My plan is to upload new material to them for the entire summer.  By September, I want to see advertising.  If I don't see advertising, then I'll probably pull out.

As far as sales go, I don't expect sales the first several months.  But by early winter, there should be signs of life.  By this time next year, they need to be competing with the bottom of the Big 7 to keep me interested.

Didn't you read what I said? I stopped when I saw They needed Pictures of the models. I only pushed through the non Model stuff. Im only asking a question here. But thanks for doing that so needed research into my port.............And BTW, I have a LOT more than 600. Next time your in LA, I'll let ya come over and count them for everyone.LOL

I think you should upload an image of the model signing the release, because you could have one MR that you wrote yourself and just changed the image in PS.

Maybe a video clip of the models signing the release, zooming in on the handwriting, and a newspaper for the day just to prove that date, and any living grandparents as well.  ;D

Laurin,
Yes I read it, and that's why I said what I did, I don't want to start a character assasination but I can't understand why you always have to inflate things.
You haven't even got 2000 images on SS or 600 models and they're your favourite site, my research took about 10 seconds, I just typed your name in.
Nothing personal just asking that you quote realistic figures.
Take care.

thanks for your interest in my work and Uploads. I'll be sure to Be very  precise Just for you,LOL. Strange you would take even 10 seconds, Im honered. I don't even know what you shoot . If you said you had 12,000 images somewhere It would mean nothing to me and I wouldn't go look and count. Glad you care though, Thought I was close with 1750. You telling me I dont have 600 Model shots?  Im shocked. Nothing personal?? Ya right. Not since LO.

I don't care whether you know what I shoot, it doesn't effect me in any way, to be honest I'm getting tired of the way you always try to make yourself out as a big time stock pro and make these wild claims, that may impress some of the novices on SS but as you can see nobody is that impressed here.
And why are you so surprised that I want you to be precise, you make claims with BS information and then you're surprised when somebody questions you about it!!
Then Come to find out I have to upload a Pic of each Model also with the release. I dont have time to resize a pic of 600 models?and upload each one.
Tell you what, I'll appologise and admit I'm wrong if you can show me a site where you have photo's of your 600 different models, or I'll tell you what even 200 different models as I don't want you to be too precise.
As for "Not since LO" I haven't got a clue what you're on about.
