Following a closed testing phase with some invited members, we'd like to now extend our evaluation of Google Analytics integration to 10 more Zymmetrical members.

What it's for:
- we  add your custom javascript for your own  personal Google Analytics account to each of your image detail pages
- you get complete, near-realtime statistics, including visitor locations, referring sites, bounce rates, etc. - everything available from Analytics

The requirements:
- you are a Zymmetrical member for longer than 3 months, with more than 50 files in the system
- email me at keith (at) zymmetrical.com to receive a non-disclosure agreement which you must fax or scan-email back to us
- sign up for a Google Analytics account as instructed on:
.

For the sitename choose "www.zymmetrical.com" (we have 7 more mirrors like Zymmetrical.de but this is just the test so we start small)
- copy the javascript they generate for you, and send to me

Thank you to the initial testers - while it's definitely a 'firehose' of data instead of nice, gentle sips, the good news is that it seems to be working out in privacy and performance respects, which were the two main initial concerns.

So, let's put the 'view counters' to bed, it's time to see if the industry is ready for -complete- stats!

Beta testing?  I've been using Google Analytics for two years.  Are you testing Google Analytics or its use on zymmetrical?

We have been using it from the start of the service (and still learning each day, goal-tracking and e-commerce are very complex sub-systems). What we are testing is members creating their own "Zymmetrical.com" profile as a secondary in their Analytics account, and we generate the relevant code on their image pages, so they have 100% of the data that is available to us, except specific to their own image pages.

You can see where visitors from your pages come from, where they go, what keywords landed them there etc. It is admittedly a bigger chunk of data then the normal content producer should be expected to process, but now that Analytics has an open API we can also identify the most important points and tie them into the Art Manager: so you see a list of your files on the site and get specific statistics branching off from that perspective. In the raw form it is admittedly a bit of work to reverse-analyze sales but it for sure has more potential than some random number that indicates a view count.
