Just adding a screenshot.  You can see how surprized I was when my eye was drawn to my username on the bottom row.  Not my photo though!

It's not complaining, obviously you have a valid problem. :) Now with the screenshot it makes a bit more sense - I could see the EXIF info even on the basketball player pic and could see that data indicated you as well:

IptcObjectName: Female Basketball Player
IptcCopyrightNotice: 2008 Lorraine Swanson
IptcCaption: A female teenage basketball player in school gymnasium.
IptcKeywords: active
etc.

But now I see you're indicating just the preview thumb was wrong. I checked into it, and ID'd the problem: it seems unique in the combination of things that caused this file in particular to get the incorrect small thumb temporarily assigned.  This type of problem is what gives administrators insomnia, but for tonight I think I can sleep  as it certainly doesn't seem widespread, and I seem to have the answer. Please let us know if you encounter anything like this again.

Thx.

There is no problem with photos 'going to other accounts'

But why is someone else's photo in MY account then?  Just their thumbnail, but it leads to my photo, and this particular photo is not in the search engine.  The keywords are attached, but this photo does not return in searches.

Now, a robot comes along hourly and processes a set amount of photos, thus distributing the load across the day and night. So if files have been approved but are not in your Art Manager / port page, it means they are lined up ready to parachute onto the site.

If hourly is they way it is supposed to refresh, these photos have not refreshed in 4 or 5 days.  I don't even know what they are.  But my cue goes down and my approved photos number goes up, but the number stays the same in my art manager.

I know I have to sound like the biggest complainer, there's some things about the upload process that have put me off a bit.  But I'll make a good list and maybe they are not so unreasonable.  I just can't get back to my cue this week, but I'll keep a list when I do.  Still in Beta, so maybe you don't mind the feedback.

Thanks, my photos have arrived!

Also, the basketball player has hit the search engine now with the other thumb, but it sounds like you do know how to fix the thumb.

I found that totally by mistake when I was doing a search for something, so I hope that's the only one with trouble!

(Sorry I'm the one causing the insomnia.)

Hi, I tried to upload via FTP and images have been stuck there for few days now.
I'll send a ticket. Thanks for your help.

I tried to upload with FTP about 2 weeks ago and the photos are still stuck.  It took a long time to transfer them to the site the last time I tried it.  Is this going to be fixed?  All the other sites I use have no problem with this.  I have a lot of images to upload and would like to get on with it.

Hey,

Sorry a couple Reviewers have been off for personal reasons, and the dream FTP server i've been trying to establish for months has been delayed in favour of getting our new shopping cart off and running.  I will get your stuff pushed through today.

One advantage of the new server will be a higher max. simultaneous connection allowance for your FTP client,  currently it's limited to 2. It will also have a bigger pipe.. so slow transfers should not be a factor.

Thanks Keith for the update,

There is something you can improve for the site which will be good, is the possibility to change the price of more than one picture a day

Cheers
L

Thanks Keith, I am pleased with the sales from my uploads so far, so it will be great to get more of my portfolio uploaded.

There should be no limit on how many pictures you can change in a day, the limitation is on how many times you can change the price -per file-. This is to allow for people to complete the shopping cart process without the price changing on them.  The bulk-edit version of  the Art manager is another project waiting in the wings.

Yes that waht I was thinking. Anyway I just tried again on another file today and was not be able to change the price again.
The file had these prices : S $2 , M $ 4, L $5
and i got the following message:

You may only update the price once every 8 days.
Current price information:
ZYIMGNAA06035   $ 35.00
ZYIMGNAA06035-m   $ 24.50
ZYIMGNAA06035-s   $ 14.00

You have changed the price in the last 8 days. You cannot change it again until 11/27/2008

Looks like it keeps in memory the last file I changed.....

Hope it helps

L

Hmm.. well it wouldn't be the first time something went strange.

I would really advise holding off on the price changing for now until we get the "sale trail" statistics up and running in the new Art Manager and you can get some more intelligence on how to price.     For example, after we added direct credit card payment as an option this week, more pro buyers are coming out of the woodworks and adjusting the price median quite a bit (i.e. buying at higher prices).

Spending time at the moment trying to guess what pricepoint will sell could be better spent on shooting more, and saying more nice things about us in forums. :)

hi mr Zymm

Your softwear has a lot of problems,
i'm sending images to 20 sites
but your system is one of the most comfusing...

i my last attempt i upload 250 images and by ONE faulse click all the images got the same  keywords
and the got rejected for keywords?????

I want to upload to your site but seems that doesn't work very well
would you fix your bugs please???

Hi Lobby,

That is no bug, but the power of the form itself. If you have the 'Tags' element checkmarked, it will of course apply all the keywords from the last-selected file, to all the other selected ones.

We realize this is prone to human error, and that is why last week turned off all the checkmarks by default. Most people only choose price and categories - so, if you want to do that, you turn the checkmarks for Price and Categories on, and leave Tags unchecked.

Every single person has their own workflow, and once you understand the implications of the checkboxes, I am confident you will not find a more efficient batch describe system anywhere.

In the future, if you do make an error like that, it would be better to notify us so we can correct the photo data, before sending it on to our Reviewers. IPTC data can always be recovered.

thanks

roses for zymm: i don't find the forms confusing at all. it's pretty straightforward, really.
brick for zymm:  i am only confused about how you reject images based on "lighting not good for commercial uses (or something like that) , when your very own  featured photo is even more badly lit,  fringed, and totally off colour .  a great contradiction, if you ask me , keith  ;)

Good to hear the Submissions form makes sense for you.

Which photo in particular are you referring to? There's 5 or so in the homepage slideshow, i'm especially curious as each one was chosen by each Reviewer as 'their' pick so the choices wouldn't be haphazard.
