Title: Important Update (email about vectorized rasters)
Post by: DiscreetDuck on March 03, 2026, 09:25
QuoteHello Contributors,

We are updating our vector standards to improve library quality and customer satisfaction. We will no longer accept "vectorized" raster content.

The Reason: Clients find these files unusable, which has led to a high number of refund requests.

Accepted Content: Moving forward, we will only accept original, hand-drawn vectors.

We are beginning a library cleanup process to remove existing vectorized content that does not meet these new standards.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our marketplace professional.
Best regards,

123RF Submission Team

Seriously, can such incompetence exist? 25 years ago, everyone in the image and printing industry knew what a vector was.
Didn't you realize that your clients, who pay for our work, want to be able to use these vector files?   ;D ;D ;D

Sorry 123something, but when trust is lost, those who have experienced such utter contempt for their work don't come back.
Maybe you can now understand the humiliation felt by those who created vectors by hand, requiring many long hours or days. They sell their work elsewhere now ;)

I personally no longer accept your company.

I get the frustration. 123RF accepted auto‑traced JPEGs as vectors for years - and now suddenly changed course. Feels late. But honestly, designers have complained for a long time that those files aren't truly usable. So this looks like fixing an old mistake. The issue isn't the new rule - it's the lost trust.

That's not the same thing. A traced image that's saved properly as an EPS is a true vector. Where the problem comes is people who just take a JPG and save it as a Vector, without doing the trace properly. They aren't converting the file, they just save in a vector package, and it's still a raster. The other part of this is, the new fake images, made with AI that are saved as a Vector have all kinds of artifcats, which makes buyers unhappy. This way 123RF can blame the artists, when the truth is, they can't tell AI from a traced illustration.

Anyway, people who don't have the proper software and don't save the images as anything but a Vector file type, are uploading rasters. That's the problem. Not traced images.
