Title: New 123RF site design
Post by: Randomway on March 02, 2010, 23:50
I just went to check the site and it's gray, reflective, and reorganized. I wonder what all the changes are. I should probably check the site forum  :)

I'm trying to find where to drill down to the individual image link or thumbnail of what has sold. I've found "Earnings ... and March 2010"

If anyone figures it out ... I would appreciate hearing about it.

Who cares about new layout when earning balance is still negative...

No doubt  :-\

I think it was December I had an unexpected explosion of sales but then it dropped off to next to nothing for the last two months. I hope March is better.

site layout reminds me of a blog template. In any case I haven't uploaded there in awhile .. I'm a couple thousand images behind with them.

Looks like an improvement to me.  Grey is good for viewing images, the site seems faster as well.  They have overtaken BigStock for me.

Profile page layout is worst, dreary, more panther than deposit, unfinished and chaotic, previous was better.
Really strange choice ::) ???

And what happened to the "we will sort out all the earnings problems and make sure you are treated properly" (whatever that meant) ... "estimated time for this March 3". Has anybody seen any sorting out of faulty reporting? They admit to not having reported some sales to us, so some people should be seeing corrections if this has been resolved.

Personally, I prefer a simple, reliable earnings page - like the one on Shutterstock - to all the flim-flam of being able to tweet and twitter but not knowing if you are getting the correct payments or not.

I personally like it better. I haven't dug through it to see my stats yet so maybe I won't like it after all, but the speed that it opens is greatly improved. I always avoided looking at my earning on there because it always took forever to open up the main page!!

The new site design looks like an improvement to me. The only thing missing is the statistics per image so that you can see in one click how much an image made overall: subscribtions and credits together. It would be sweet if there was an option to alter keywords and titles after submitting like some other sites have.

No mention on the new site that I could see of their affiliation with Inmagine, Inmagine now have the 'Valueimages' section all priced at GBP8 (different currency if you're in another country I guess) which is basically the 123RF collection but without mentioning the link.

Strange that the two sites who obviously are still affiliated shouldn't mention the fact.

Mine look pretty crisp and sharp in the previews.

I'm not crazy about their getting rid of the multiple tabs at the top to navigate the contributors section though.  There is only the one Sell Your Images tab and you have to keep clicking on that to get to the other sections like releases, history, uploads, etc.

Okay, at first I thought that ,although better looking, the site is harder to navigate but it seems I was wrong. You have direct links for your earnings and portfolio in the bottom left of the main page. The only direct link missing is the downloaded stats but you can click on More and then Downloads. I like the fact that you can login directly on the main page now.

So, an improvement.

Since they don't have a link to the old download stats at https://www.123rf.com/submit/listmydownloaded.php (https://www.123rf.com/submit/listmydownloaded.php)
I just use that as my direct link to the site, signing in as needed.

i quite like the new look. the only thing i don't like is that my sales dropped dramatically since they changed their design.

i am not a very big player but still more than 600 pics online. so far it looks like this gonna be my worst month by far since april 2009. if it goes on like this then i will make only about 20% of the february income... (while on SS, IS and DM it most likely gonna be BME this month)

anyone else with similar experiance? did they change their search engine, too?

If they have made finding an image as difficult as determine what has sold, I'm not surprised. They are rapidly tipping the trouble <> worth equation to the wrong side of the scale.

I have a math question for someone from 123RF.

If I have sold 2 copies of an image for a total of $1.06 and sold one of them today, how much did I make from today's sale?

I DON'T KNOW EITHER. PUT THE OLD STATS PAGE BACK.

Apart from the furiating download stats they seem to like rejecting a lot nowadays. From the 45 images I uploaded the last weeks, 38 were rejected for lighting issues. 80% of those had no problems at Istock.. The upside is that I sell  more than I used to. I guess I'll use my old images for that, as I will stop uploading for a while I guess.

Sad to see that the old old statistics page is now gone. How are we supposed to figure out what sold when for how much? Please return the old page or put in something new that supplies that information.

I have had some FTP problems since the change, but the last few batches seem to have worked ok, so hopefully that is fixed.

I think I know the page your looking for is ... Under "Download" ... where I wasn't looking before as I was thinking that was for things that I downloaded ...
Once there you select your month in the pulldown menu. It took me forever to find it as I wanted to know what individual image sold.

I hope this helps.
