OK, thank you!

They have a lot of content with keywords generative ai.

That is why I started uploading.

Yes, I think they did take it before, then didn't? I'm a firm believer in "I don't honestly know for sure". One place they say they don't, another they had a way to tag images as Generative AI.

But going from the Alamy Blog they don't?

If the words are in the artists keywrods and titles, how many people use an uploading service that sends to everywhere all the same. How many people don't edit their keywords and descriptions for each agency. I have to laugh, if you search Alamy for Zuma, there are people who work for them, that leave the required "Zuma News" in the keywords.

I can guess that people who upload to Adobe, will leave in the required Generative AI notices.

Hey, someone write to Alamy and ask, please? I have to go fix the car... and go shopping. I'm the one cooking dinner tonight.  :)

I made a few, that were my original images, upload to, and altered using DALL-E2. They are my own, with some help from AI. Not someone else's work in any way, to transform them. No prompts or anything, just my image uploaded and four variations created. Then I altered that myself.

And you really think AI just generated 4 different variations with ONLY using your photo and is not resorting to its training with billions of copyrighted images? Seems a bit naive.

Have you anything positive to say that my image and the results were not just warped versions? There's nothing added, no other image was cloned or made into a collage. Yes I'm naive to think that I uploaded and image, the AI changed it, and didn't use anyone else's image, directly, to do that. Or you are possibly, negative and trying as hard as possible to find things wrong with everything. Must be pretty gloomy and depressing.

I'll stay with my head in the clouds, looking for the good in things and stay naive. Thanks

I have an idea, upload a B&W drawing and see what DALL-E gives you back. It does not use other images, to create the new images. It is 100% the original image and nothing more, sometimes less.

And if you mean AI looked at images and learned, yes, I read the dictionary sometimes, I know more words, that doesn't mean that because the dictionary was created from researching books and looking for meaning, that I plagiarizer someone else's writing.

Ah, so you do agree with me that other than your work was used to create your work.

What you describe is the WHOLE problem with AI content being trained by images they had no right to use and why several Ai generators are currently being sued.

Some people still do not seem to understand how AI works. Ai image generators are not going through some database scrapping the hand from one image, the eye from another, the dress for a third, the background from a forth and so one. They create images all based on what they have learned by "looking" at existing artwork in the past.

I uploaded MY image, AI produced a variation of MY image, nothing was from someone else's work.

Do you use a spell checker on your computer? Is that violating the copyright of the dictionary companies?

These are two separate concepts, not all in one. Teaching words, and vocabulary, by reading a book, is not stealing. Looking at a photo and having a machine learn from that, is not image theft. Now if someone wanted to argue that reading the associated data and Alt Text was stealing, I could start to side with that. Because if it's in the image data or on a website, someone had to add that, and their descriptions are protected. Or at least it would make a good argument.

Where, looking at something or reading, and learning, doesn't infringe.

Sounds as bad as this years sales.  :(

But... "Discussion.alamy.com is DOWN
It is not just you. The server is not responding..."

This checks out OK:  https://www.alamy.com/myupload/index.asp  "More than a week ago Last Down:"

As far as I can tell, Alamy is fine, the contributor tools show as being online and the forum is still broken.

Of course I'm trusting a site that pings and checks, and I don't know how reliable their data actually is.
