Some time ago I read that the new keywording system was in place instead of the time consuming 3 tier system. I am still finding nothing has changed and the system is still 3 tier. Has this now been scrapped ?

Alamy is in the  process of rolling out changes to their keywording system. If you are a contributor you  will find extensive discussion on their forum.

Coming soon, coming some day, working on it, 2017 maybe. Never started yet, not scraped. This is what happens on forums when people don't read the facts and imagine things that never happened.

Not only that, James answered Herg in this post, specifics to the same question that's now twisted.

Our contributor tools are currently being updated and the roll-out will begin soon. This should make it easier to get images annotated with us quickly - aside from a whole bunch of improvements, there will be less mandatory fields to fill in and only one keyword box.

Maybe soon isn't soon enough, but nothing has ended. They haven't started.

James,

Do you know when the new contributor spot will be life? THANK YOU.

Sorry I'm not able to offer any concrete dates. We're not trying to be purposefully mysterious by not telling you - we'd love to - but because it's still a work in progress timescales get shifted all the time. We've got more rounds of testing to do and some things to tweak and finalise. As soon as we have a fixed date, we'll be really excited and will tell everyone!

At the moment I would say we're a few months away, but it might be less / more than that depending on how things go. One thing I can assure you though is that we are working hard on this project, every single day as a matter of priority.

Cheers

James A

Ask Santa for this project to finally be completed. No concrete dates. No dates promised.

The keywording system has not changed.

It is not wholly accurate to say that the keywording system has not changed.

Alamy used their blog on November 23rd to release some detail on the new image management interface and stated that the rollout was likely to begin that week and take a couple of months to implement.

It is certain from results observed , and Alamy have confirmed this, that in the days following there has been a major change in their search engine. This is tied in with the changes to the keywording system as the three levels of keywords currently implemented are migrated to a system of tags ( 50 maximum).

It would seem that few contributors have yet gained access to the new image management tool, but it is quite clear that significant change is taking place.

They always take their time doing things.  "Soon" means they are working on it but who knows when it will be ready?  I don't mind how long they take, better to get it right than make a mess of it, like so many of the microstock sites have.

So true.

Still running flash, still showing three boxes, nothing has changed for me.

If the search has changed that's not the point. It's the contributor interface that's supposed to be updated. One keyword box. Anybody have that yet? The edit interface, they are dropping the flash system. Anybody have that?

Hey Joe how about a link to the specifics so I don't have to search the whole forum for disconnected bits and pieces? Thanks

So commas or no commas, I keyword in Lightroom so when it imports into Alamy now all the spaces have been taken out so its keyword, keyword, keyword, keyword - either way I have to now put a space in between the words which is a pain when you upload 100 images with 50 keywords for each image. Adobe Stock just made it easier and Alamy Harder.

Ever since I started uploading to Alamy, I put commas between my keywords. And I have sales and views, so I guess it doesnt matter?

So have I and some people use semicolons. Alamy reads spaces and who knows what else. I use the same keywords embedded in my files for all agencies, and with commas.

When the contributor tools actually change to, three search boxes are one and flash interface is gone, somebody post some facts.

Or post a link to where Alamy says the new interface is live for us, not just the beta testers.

Why are you manually adding spaces? I don't see the point of it.
