I am using Alamy for 2+ years and I'm still having a hard time to understand their statistics, or even to find my earnings.

1. Yesterday I got a "Other income - DACS Payment 2018" and I have no idea how I got it. Is there a way to know where does it come from?
This payment showed up after I deleted all my images (almost).

I reported a website using one of my images starting May and there was no sale reported for it. Finally, after insisting, the sale showed up on September 25 but it is still not cleared, so that is not the source of my DACS.

2. Another question that no dictionary could answer, please: what is the difference (in meaning) between "Balance brought forward" and "Balance carried forward"?

Thank you very much for any help.

Thank you ShadySue.

I assume Alamy made the claim.
I've read what DACS is but is it possible to find out what kind of work is the payback for?

Certain Books, magazines and TV.
You can opt to claim yourself (it's not difficult but it's fairly time-consuming - OTOH you can  add any sales from other sources if you can find relevant in-uses, and after the first time, you're just adding on future years' info, or you can let Alamy do it for you for which I think they take their usual 50% (I'm sure the details will be somewher on the Alamy site).

I understand, I had a fast read on the site but I was not asking the right question. What I would like to know is which of my images were used on books, magazines....?

Do you sell RM? If so, it's in your sales history.
If RF, I don't know, maybe Alamy has that info (?)

Alamy do give quite a bit of info on their sales on licence types sold...more than any other sites.... I just got a DACS payment I just look on it as a bonus I'm sure I could spend days working it out so I'm happy they take a percentage.

Yes the RF Editorial  info is the same as RM eg "Usage: Educational book. Editorial print + digital use. Up to DPS, inside. One time use only"

Yes, I have some RM, news/sport but I have no sales recorded for any of them in sales history or elsewhere.

Thank you ShadySue.

Yes, I understand, this is the full half of the glass. However, if I look at the 100% DACS amount, it makes up 50% of my two years (poor) earnings. Maybe, those many unreported sales are not random, just saying.

Hi James,

Thank you for your help.
By details you mean my contributor ID and image ID-s? I have no other details.
I appologize for being so ignorant in Alamy matters.

Thanks again.
