After deleting an image a day for about 2 weeks, and writing them twice asking for my account to be cacelled and my images removed, with no answer, I tried doing something else a few days ago.

I changed the description of all my files asking buyers not to download this image as I am trying to close the account and I will not see the royalties from it.

I just tried logging in to Albumo to delete my daily photo and my account is cancelled...

I did send an email to zymm asking my account to be cancelled as well, but no answer yet...

I'm guessing that you didn't have a huge portfolio there? Even so, it's a good thought for the rest of us to bear in mind - I just don't know of a way to automate the task of changing 1600 descriptions to "Dear Buyer, Please don't download this image as I'm trying - so far without success - to leave this site and will never see a penny of the money I would otherwise be earning."

No, I didn't have a huge portfolio there, but doing it to over 200 images was hard too.
but I guess it's much easier than logging in every day to delete one image.

Albumo has been busy weeding through my portfolio lately and arbitrarily removing images.  Apparently I uploaded a bunch of duplicates.  Too bad they weren't as busy trying to promote the site!   ::)

I think if you started putting in the description ' please buy this image at istock' they would soon delete the portfolio.  :)

Lior, what a clever strategy!  Glad it worked for you.  Who knows, it may catch on across other sites...

Good for you on your strategy. Very smart thinking.

I ran across an old little PR article or posting from Albumo a little while back. They said "we are committed and in it for the long haul." or something to that effect. But who will they have left??

For those who have been getting "no response" in delete port requests, it only shows gross ignoranace on the part of Albumo.

I only uploaded about 60 images as a test. After zero sales over a six month period and no sign of their big marketing extravaganza at 200K images, I deleted my images over 60 days. No more new micro sites for me. Time to focus on RM.

well, the strategy got your account deleted, but my experience is that buyers don't read descriptions... they just buy what they see. I had an image on one site that i uploaded an newer much nicer version to (instead of contacting support to ask them to replace the image - i was being lazy) and so i put in the description the link to the newer image - the buyers kept buying the old one! So, my experience is that either they don't care or don't read.

I might have to try this method.  I still have about 250 and deleting one a day is getting very tedious!  And of course there are days I forget so it's going to take me another year.  lol

I did not try this method.  However I am thrilled to announce that Albumo finally honored my request to close my account.   :D

I had written several e-mails to ask the to close my acount, I was deleting one image a day but with over 1100 images it would take years to remove all. Day before yesterday I couldn't login anymore and discovered that my account was closed (no email, nothing from them). What a waste of time, over half a year, 0 sales.

Any other strategies for getting albumo to remove your account that anyone would like to share? My year is up but repeated e-mails and site contact to them have just been ignored.

I've tried the "Please don't buy here" on the most viewed images. I've deliberately spammed the most viewed ones (with the altered title) hoping to irritate them into getting rid of me. Do a search for office teamwork or buisness handshake and there's my spam (Anything titled Pee Po Belly Bum Drawers is me as well; if you're not familiar with the ancient comic songs of Flanders & Swann this won't mean anything).

I want my images gone from their site.

I actually got a reply back from them almost 2 months ago that said they were willing to remove almost 100 if I would send the image numbers.
Well, they haven't yet, and now they are going to be the proud representatives of almost 500 images that are all listed as follows:

Title : Read Image Description
Description: Stock Photo of This website refuses to work with us, and we no longer wish to sell here. Please see our complete portfolio at `www.dreamstime.com/resp482745`
Keywords: portfolio, spam, keywords, delete, unresponsive, website, unhappiness.

I seriously think there isn't anyone there anymore... my images are still all up...
I've got about 50 reworked so far, i'm going to spend the rest of the weekend finishing out the rest... However, those 50 or so have been up that way for almost a week...

Well, we'll see what happens...

Someone is still around, because I received my requested $75 earlier this month.

I have 16 more days before I can start deleting my portfolio.  Woo!

I'm still deleting one a day.  I've also started changing the titles and descriptions to "not for sale."  I actually had a 50 cent sale yesterday.  I've made and entirel $1.00 over my initial $25!  woohoo!  I can retire!  Oh wait...I still have to reach the payout...back to work.   :o

I have earned one only dollar there too (over the starting bonus of 25)! I stopped uploading months ago. I do not know how Karimala could reach 75 USD. She must be a megasuperwoman! It is impossible for ordinary people. Well done Karimala! Shame on you Albumo!

If you want to delete more then 1 images per day:
Open "remove this photo" window on 2 or more computers
then enter "ok" at the same time.

Interesting idea!  I don't often have more than one computer near me, but I'm going to try this when I can.

It works even with one computer but it's more difficult. You have to open mutliply browser's windows and validate deleting very fast.

nice idea!...
I tried to delete 3 at the same time (firefox, firefox+ie tab and opera) but was only fast enough for 2.
I will try to be faster tomorrow ;D

It was easy...I uploaded the bulk of my portfolio over a year ago, and earned $73.  I've had to wait all this time to earn the remaining $2 to cash out.  LOL

I tried this with two IE browsers open, but wasn't fast enough.  lol
