Well it appears that bigstock has taken a place in the Big 6, and pushed 123RF out.

Looks like it could be a little battle there in the next few months between 123RF, Bigstock, and Crestock.

Bigstock has been good for me and has been in the top 6 for a long time, sometimes outselling DT.  The sales have shot up lately.  I have uploaded more there than some other sites, probably because I have a 97% acceptance rate and they sell images that other sites reject.

The price rise has worked well. I made $3 on a sale yesterday.  It hasn't slowed down downloads.

I'm surprised 123RF was ranked above them prior to now.  BigStock always delivers steady, if unspectacular results for me.  Seems whenever most people report their earnings percentages, BigStock is comfortably ahead of 123.

Ironically, 123RF is having a very good first week of the month for me.  Hey, it's only 7 days, but it's my #3 earner!

yeah i was actually surprised before as well. For me, Bigstock generally returns 2x what 123RF does... somebody must have been doing allright on 123RF though.

123RF and bigstock are about the same for me (both in the top 6) but they outsell Fotolia by a long way...quite often 3x

My second best earner.
Steady, and sells a wide range of subjects with excellent acceptance rate.

Deservedly in the top 6.

wow, that is bizarre how the different sites are so different for everyone.  I think it is phildate, which has fotolia as his #1 site.

I have one doubt about bigstock, I read on thier site u can't remove images for 90 days. What if an exclusive buyout happens on another site for an image u have on bigstock too?

hi,

it always amazes me too.

123 rf is #4 for me (6% of sales in jan and 1.5x fotolia sales)
(StockXpert is #7 :)

FL is #1 for andresr in Jan with 27% of income: http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php/topic,3497.0.html

for me it's pretty steady: FL = 1.5*BS = 3* 123RF

They would definitely allow removal of the image under such a condition.  I'm sure it has happened many times.  If there was a problem, someone would have raised the issue here for certain.

BS is much higher than 123RF for me I'd say 2x and price increase worked out really well I think.
As for FT it used to be my top earner too but for the past few  months IS took over the top and now they are 2nd or 3rd (neck to neck with SS)

I think it shouldn't be the big 6 but the "big 7". Bigstock and 123rf have similar sales although bigstock for me is ahead. However the gap between them and Crestock is HUGE!

I used to think we should have a "Big 2," then the Next 4-5, and then everyone else.  But after Andres announced Fotolia was his new #1, I don't know what to think.  LOL.   :-\

crestock was only a few $$ short of matching 123RF for me last month, so I don't think they are THAT far behind.

A few times I have asked them to remove an image and they've always done it. I think they're trying to avoid knee jerk mass deletion of images rather than fussing about one or two images here and there.

Wow really? hehe I never thought they could be so close, my earnings at 123rf are 5.5x the ones at crestock and at bigstock they are 8x.

That's why I thought they would belong in the luckyoliver, scanstock and others category (in fact I get more at scanstock than crestock).

Just send them an email stating the issue. They are very friendly and will certainly do so.
For me, BigStock took over the third place too, over iStock. The last time they really sell well, after a bad December. Of course, my port at BigStock is much bigger than at iStock where I lag a year behind in upload. Not my fault with their stupid 20/week limit when I'm often not online for 2-3 months.

BigStock has always been a low but decent earner for me.  It was 4th last month and it's 5th this month.  I earn twice there than in 123RF.  The new prices are doing well.

I have one doubt about bigstock, I read on thier site u can't remove images for 90 days. What if an exclusive buyout happens on another site for an image u have on bigstock too?
Technically, you should not offer for exclusive buy-out what you have commited elsewhere.  For what people reported here, BigStock has been kind enough not to create a problem, but they have the right not to do delete them (remember that upon uploading you clicked a button accepting that).

Regards,
Adelaide

Yes madelaide, this is the point, they can deny u to delete the image and u could lose a 10000 dollars exclusive buyout (i dont think it will happen to me in the next 15 years)
it rises another important question: which sites offers buyers exclusive buyout option? are the buyer going to contact the agency to reach an agreement about the price? or it can happen as a normal transaction without interaction between the buyer, the agency and the seller? i know, i should read the legal statement of the agencies.... sure i will one day...

For what its worth my average commission per image sold at BigStock is around $1.10 when compared to $.94 at FT and DT.

Oh don't get me wrong ... my earnings at 123rf, DT and FT all exceed BigStock. I was merely pointing out that BigStock's average commission is higher than the others.

Bigstock has showing a steady decrease in download for about 5 months ... don't know what is going on over there... despite the constant growth of high quality/resolution pictures from my side.
