Here's an interesting warning I just got while uploading to Bigstock.  Mind you I was uploading images of poison ivy.

"You have used the words, "ivy, and poison", more than once within any of these fields: Title / Description / Keywords.

You may choose to ignore this warning and click the "Save and Submit" button to continue, but please consider that excessive keyword stuffing may negatively effect your placement in search results. We urge you strongly to make sure your keywords are accurate and not to use the same word(s) excessively."

How can you title, describe and keyword something if you can only use each word once??

most of the time I ignore that warning and my images are accepted without problems

yeah, i just ignore the warnings.

But the problem was using the one word 2x in the SAME BOX... you can have ivy in the description title and keywords and not get a warning, but if you have a word 2x in one of those boxes you get a warning.

You also get a warning if you use the word 'the' 2x so it is a bit ridiculous.

Well, you use these words twice in any of Title / Description / Keywords. That means you can use once in title, once in description and once in keywords.

I didn't upload for a months there but as I remember that is the rule. Try it I think it works.

I had that today, but it wasn't a problem with title/desc/kw, just keywords.  I say that because another image had no message and words were repetead in these fields. In the one I got a message, indeed I had words repeated, in the composed keywords.  I had "white" in "white card", "white person" and simply "white".  But BigStock accepts composed keywords, doesn't it?

I didn't change anything, let's see if there is a problem.

Adelaide

yep, this looks like a new warning - if you use iptc, then you need to use BOTH composite and single word keywords, since each site has a different policy.  if BigStock starts getting picky, it'll just mean a few more not accepted.  they could easily prohibit duplicates thru software if they reALLY cared - they obviously already are checking FOR dupes.

That's what I do, I use composed and split keywords (now putting split of top because of FT - I must have lost many sales because I had "Rio de Janeiro" and not "Rio, de,Janeiro" there :'().  Sites like DT don't work with composed keywords, but then they automatically set commas to all spaces and trim resulting duplicates.

I haven't got any reviewed since the change, so don't know how it will effect rejections, but I get several of these each batch. It needs more intelligence to be effective.
