Is it worthwhile submitting to Crestock now they've had a change of management? My acceptance rate there used to be about 2% so it was a bit of a waste of time for me so I closed my account with them. I'm at around 50% at Istock and 90% at other agencies so I know my work isn't completely rubbish!

Honestly I don't get them.. They are so picky keeping the best collection possible but after all only a few top contributors have a little success there.. I have sent a batch in the past (like 10 months ago) and also massively rejected.. They have a sweet upload system but to have 5% approved don't think it is worth.. Maybe will try again one of these days but don't believe they will go strong..

I wont bother until they increase the $0.25 subs.  There were too many of them and I don't want buyers to go there when other sites pay me much more.

Exactly. And I think that's the main reason people haven't ever been eager to join, myself included. And the arrogant 20% commission for starters for an agency that doesn't even perform well.

They haven't changed all that much.  They reject most of my submissions, which is an improvement over the old regime.  And they still don't bring in much in the way of sales, coming in at #11 for the last year at just .7% of my earnings.  If I hadn't been bored, I'd have stopped uploading there.

Yes, unfortunately sales there are just dire.   I was very hopeful when they were bought out that sales would improve, but they have gone the opposite direction and are much less then a year ago, when they weren't good either.  If I wasn't already there I would not be joining right now.

I am still hopeful things will pick up at some time in the future, but for right now there is not much point to uploading there.

I deactivated my account when they were having trouble meeting payments. I was wondering if it was worth reactivating it, but I guess not!   :-\

"I was very hopeful when they were bought out that  would improve"  and the rejection rate are way way too high.

+4, and they have the worst RPD in top 10.....Write them and let them know they have to increase subs or introduce an opt out option. Its a small agency - they might listen if enough let them know.

I just sent them a sitemail with a link to this thread.  Hopefully one day they will listen to us, its been years now since I first mentioned the discrepancy between their $0.25 and the $0.38 I get with shutterstock.

Well I hope they read it. I can't believe that a company would buy this awful site, and then keep in place the very worst parts of it that doom it to failure. My answer to the original question is no, it has never been and continues to not be worth the trouble.

Stir a bit in the manure - its very fertile! New amino acids will form, life will evolve, neurons will fire and sub commisions will be increased to 38 cents!

What I should answer is: At least give them a chance to listen - Its new management. If 10 people here write they dont submit at Crestock because of there low commisions, they will know that 100s more think the same

There's an interview with Masterfiles President by Lee Torrens here:
http://www.microstockdiaries.com/steve-pigeon-on-the-crestock-acquisition.html

At [2'57"] he says they are investing significant amount of money into marketing. This could be good news, but it's useless imo if they are not addressing the real issues with Crestock: low $.25 subs and weird rejections. No mention in the interview unfortunately. As a submitter, I don't want more buyers to go there as long as they are paying one of the lowest rates in microstock.

Two sales in two days - one paying me $3.00  :o  A surprise to me considering I only have a small portfolio of 35 images so far.  Maybe it's a sign of better things to come?

Crestock has always had lots of marketing, I don't think that works with a site that has a much smaller collection than most of their rivals and has a poor relationship with lots of its contributors.  Unless they change what obviously isn't working, I think they wont get anywhere.

Honestly, has Lee ever done an interview with a microstock company where they claimed they were NOT investing a significant amount of money into marketing?
