I was submitting some images today and I can see that I get discouraged when submitting to CutCaster due to amount of scrolling up and down that I have to in the small frame on the submit page.

I just uploaded ~200 images to Cutcaster the other day and yea it was a bit of a pain having to constantly scroll. All my files have IPTC data but for some reason it doesn't record the titles.. so I had to go manually add all of those. I have to do that at Dreamstime too. All the other sites read the IPTC title/headline/whatever.

I think it might be better if the images were not in the small frame like they are now,  but rather listed in several columns on the page itself, with the check box to select what changes we are applying to them (MR, categories, EL). This would reduce the amount of scrolling.

You know much better how categories of images are used by buyers. However, it would greatly simplify the upload process if the images are not categorized at all.

Regarding reading of the IPTC data, it happened to me a while ago too but only on a couple of images so I didn't consider it much of a problem.

what do you think would be an easier way to lay it out?  should i just have 100 images per page and have you scroll up and down that page or is there an easier way?

Long ago in a PM, I gave already hints to a solution. First of all get rid of the right column with the upload conditions/keywords explanations on each and every submit screen. It wastes screen real estate, and we know them by now. They can always be on a separate conditions screen. The IFRAMES can be much wider then.

Putting model thumbs in an IFRAME, rather than a popup is great, but there should be more models visible at once. Now there are just 2 rows of them. Removing the right conditions column and adding just one or maximum two rows (total 3 or 4) would eliminate the excessive scrolling and clicking in the models IFRAME largely.

There is no reason that the thumbs of the images themselves should be in an IFRAME. Let them just run the rest of the page. Or make that IFRAME much higher. I don't think many upload more than 100 images at once by FTP, since the chance on errors grows exponentially. Therefore, an IFRAME with 50 images or so would be fine.

As it is now, there is far too much clicking and scrolling in and out IFRAME needed, and ergonomically speaking, it's a pain in the wrist and the elbow.

I agree with Whitechild. Part of their interface being easy is that none of them have categories. If possible, I would like to see categories removed altogether.

I just uploaded 275 images from different shoots...a big issue is that that do not appear in the order in which they are uploaded which makes it an absolute pain...although in future I'll just upload one set of images at a time which should make it easier. I checked the box for Cutcaster algorithm pricing and when they came online most of them had a pricing of $0.00 and I had to go through manually and assign prices to each image.

All in all an off putting experience.

i just joined cc these days and upload 100+ of my pictures. then i started to submit them but stopped after 6 already. this is really a pain in this ass - sorry to name it like this, but it really is  

1. of all: this scrolling up and down is making me sick
2. the scrolling area shows maximum 2 pics. this is by far not enough space to navigate quickly!
3. select all and thick "extended licensing" - YES. but still not all the pics are on YES. i redo it - then other pics are back on NO?!?!?
4. it takes a long time until all the thumbs are there. and still some will not show...
5.....

anyway, i decided to take it veeeery easy on cc. i might submit one or the other pic if i really don't have anything else to do which won't happen often...

hope cc will change something an i'll give it another try...

...just logged in to my account again. 6 pictures i submitted are approved. the other 115 pictures i just let there (without completed keywords and titels and of course no model releases attached, yet) GOT ALL REJECTED allthoug i didn't submit them!

so, how can pictures be rejected if i did not even send them for evalutation??? when i logged off last time they were all in the submit section (no. 3) and i didn't mark and submitted them...

so, guess i uploaded 115 pics for nothing - even more PAIN IN THE ASS.

i am taking my 6 approved pics off and close my cc acount now

I had ten files all rejected by 'media files rejected', i got replied by supports saying it is a problem in system. Do i need to upload all of them again.

Even though I have closed my account at Cutcaster, I would still like to give some input, which really applies to all the sites. A lot of us (especially those of us who are independents and upload to several sites) don't have time to read blogs and forums. So if critical announcements are made in the blog/forum, we don't see them. There must be a better way to get critical info to contributors. I have never understood why mass emails to contributors can't be done. Perhaps there is a technical reason, but I thought that could be accomplished by making a group, typing the email once, and hitting the send button. If that is not a viable alternative, I apologize for my ignorance.
