At this moment Depositphotos is my no 3 for the month, behind Shutterstock and Dreamstime, but ahead of iStock, Fotolia, 123RF, Bigstock and Crestock.

Interesting to hear that, how much photos do you have online there? How much sales do you have? Can you show your portfolio? (If you dont mind of course  ;) )

I got only 2 sales for now there. With portfolio of 292 photos. But on the other side I am not typical stock photographer I mean I shoot what I want (as hobby) and when I want I pick some of my photos and put them to microstock agencies.

I finally got my first sale this past week.  A sub sale with less than 100 images online.  Hope more is down the road :)

Congratulations to your sales! :)

Can I ask you something? What is the reason for deleting images after they dont sell? I mean it in general not just on DepositPhotos. Now and then I read someone saying that he/she will delete all his/her pictures if they dont sell. Why? For what can be that good for? If you spended some time by uploading, categorizing etc. why to delete them? Maybe they will not sell maybe they will. But as long as images are there, than there are still some chances, but if you delete them, than all chances to sell them are lost. It is better something (even possible/theoretical something :) ), than nothing. Isnt it ???

But never mind as I sayed before I am just hobby photographer, not "Big Stock Picture Factory" like skilled MicroStockers here. I take it mostly as hobby/fun and I am very happy from every sale.

During years I deleted some of my pictures from my portfolios too, but that was mostly for reason that I wasnt satisfied with their quality any more those were old photos that I shot many years ago.

^^^The problem is when you get a few sales but it will take years to reach a payout.  That means the site makes money but you don't.  If sites didn't have payout limits, I would be more inclined to leave my portfolio there.

Jareso-
First of all, thanks for the kind words about my underwater images. Second, the payout point is valid. Having a bunch of images on sites that will likely take forever to reach the payout amount isn't worth your time. I'm slowly closing accounts at low earning sites and sticking with the ones that make me more money. That being said, I'm still waiting on 2 sites to make the payout amount before I delete my account.

I've gotten shy after the debacle of Fotomind that closed doors, apparently just before they needed to pay out a number of contributors, having spent the money already. If fact, they have made money on my images, and I've got nothing. The same with Pixamba but the loss was just a few dollars.
Depositphotos on the other hand played a very fair game seting the payout limit under the upload bonus. They payed me promptly my 111$ and I returned the courtesy to upload more than double the amount of the minimum (500) images required for the full bonus. I also won't quit after the minimum of 6 months. They were fair, even if they won't sell a lot.

Agree with what Sharpshot said. After they have set on there awhile with no sales it's a waste of your time to even check the site. You might reach payout in the year 2020. In the mean time your sales just go into the pocket of the site because unless you reach payout you get nadda. And then there is the chance that you'll never get your money because the site dehydrates and dies.

For a while I had almost daily sales at DepositPhotos and I saw my name several times in Top 10 on the front page. But since one week or so - nothing. I'm not going to upload anymore there, until something happens. It's starting to look like a waste of time. I have over 3000 files with them.

Two sub sales=0.60 in 2 months with 275 files...I'll give them the 6 months agreed on, after that they better generate some sales or I'm out of there...I'm already contributing to two dead beat sites, I really don't need another one!!!

Been uploading there since the early days of the site.
250 files
4 sales - 3 subs (0.30 each) and 1 credit (1.10).
2 sales this week (including the credit sale).

I'm not going to stop uploading. It's easy and fast.
My problem is with the views. They're very, very few and take a long time.
But they're only newbies and I hope, in time, they can make it up there.

They'll need a chance of one year at least. They just exited the grace period where credits were given for free to prospective buyers (or freebie hunters). We can assume they'll put an equally important financial effort to market the site, as they put into collecting images.

That effort can only be visible after the Western holiday period, earliest September-October, and there will obviously a lean period between the moment their free offerings run out and real sales take off. There is no reason yet to doubt DP. They have been very fair till now.

I also got some sales in my first month at deposit. I got sales almost every day. But now the sales are gone. Nothing!

I wonder if they give new photographers (not new images) an advantage in search placement to encourage them to upload more images!?
