Title: Botanical names
Post by: PZF on July 30, 2019, 07:38
I shoot a fair few insect and bug images and take care to keyword correctly with the Latin names. But when I checked the DT site recently, I found these had gone from keywords, though they remained in title and/or description.
Has anybody else noticed this?
Is it now normal?
Was it always normal and I just didn't notice?
Does it matter (given that sales are, in any case, pretty rare occurrences these days)????

I believe this is normal for DT.

I shoot lots of birds and other critters, including insects, and always include Latin names, which DT routinely removes from the keywords. Not clear to me why, since people who want a photo of a specific species would likely search for the Latin name. My other stock sites always leave the technical keywords in.

However, sales are few and far between at DT, so I don't worry about it.

I just spot - checked a few images and they still had the Latin names in the keywords (separated out as single words as DT does). They were submitted a while ago, so maybe this is a new policy. I just submitted one, so I'll see what they do with it (if they accept it).

Please do come back and let us know. Thanks!

I just checked a couple of mine and the scientific names were still there.

It looks like they did not remove them from my most recent upload.

:(   Looks like I will have to put them all back in then.....
Even if sales are feeble, this would make then even feebler!
Rework.....
