Achilles just announced on the Dreamstime forum that they will be canceling the print program.  By the sounds of it, that is probably a smart move.

Shame but it was never going to work or generate significant revenue in comparison to stock sales. If IS couldn't make it work then DT had no chance __ the only surprise was that they attempted it.

I think Fotolia has the best idea.  Providing prints through third party sellers like Bilderking.  I know this is controversial here but if we expect retailers of decoratiive prints like Bilderking to buy EL's of all our pictures because a few might sell we are dreaming in color.  Better to let Bilderking's customer purchase a standard llicense for the picture they want from Fotolia with Bilderking's account.  We may not get many sales that way be we don't lose anything and every little bit counts in this business.

Print Program, I knew so little about you and now you're gone. How's that Myspace greeting card thing going? Is that still around? Did anybody ever find where it is on Myspace?

I tend to agree, Fred.  This is the most cost effective way to provide print products.

To be honest, I don't know if I've ever had any sales through Bilderking.  I do sell a fair number of largest sized images on Fotolia, though, so maybe so?

Wow, months to implement this and soon they give up?  Is this how they spend that extra cut from our commission?  :'(

Achilles is a great entrepreneur. It's very wise and courageous to stop a beginning bleeding early and lose some face, rather than let it go on and have to cut the operation later anyways with a larger loss.
Money won't make you happy.

Well, since this didn't work out, maybe DT can restore our commissions to previous levels?

I don't think so, as the cut was supposed to go to advertisement in a general way.

I'm curious about what went wrong.  DT is not a bunch of naïve people who would implement this without serious studies.
