I came across a beautiful bouquet of flowers while out shopping. And of course, I immediately thought "photo opportunity." I like the results of what I have shot, and for what it is worth, they are getting a high approval rate at Shutterstock.
But do I dare upload these to Dreamstime? Particularly when I am in the process of trying to build my approval rate rather high? In the past, there have been a lot of posts that uploading flower pictures to DT is rather futile. Anybody tried recently? Any strong concepts that you have found to work?
Most of what I have done so far is soft light shots over white, and a few interesting bouquet shots with selective focus.

Indeed, my flower shots have a lower-than-normal acceptance ratio in DT.

Yes! You will have to tread carefully if you want to build up your acceptance ratio.
Sometimes it pays to be brave there!

For the record, I uploaded 10 or 15 "flower based" pictures and all were accepted. The gunslinger survives. ;D

I have had a lot declined on DT purely due to an over abundance of stock - so most of my nature stuff didnt get put on - you are lucky!

I find that straight flower pictures have little or no chance of getting accpeted, no matter how good they are. If I see flowers like at a farmers market, things like that get in and sell ok...

Hi folks! Just spot this thread and since gardening is my second hobby I've got a lot of photographs of flowers individually.
I wonder which agency would be best to market them, as IStock explicitly tells that they don't need them anymore, you're telling that DT also not keen about them.
What about Fotolia and others, could you recommend a good place to sell them except SS(as I thought about registering with them later)?

The ironic part is, both Dreamstime and iStock took a ton of my flower photos. They were accepted for the most part at Shutterstock too.
Shoot creatively with good lighting, maybe try some macro work too. Stand out, in other words. Good luck.

I've got a lot of macros and while it's winter I have time to select something from my collection I think. Will check your collection also to see what kind of flowers they are looking for.

Not much to check from my collection. I grabbed some roses and a sunflower off the shelf, and voila! I didn't exactly go for anything exotic...not that my grocery store carries a lot of exotic flowers. ::)

my wife and me growing a lot varieties on our garden and some in our home so there are plenty things to photo :)
Anyway I think your shots could be well used by some bridal site for example.
