I just have a automatic message from a Dreamstime potential buyer, who demand me the RAW file for a picture. Do he want the unphotoshoped JPEG file or exactly the RAW file, that I don't have because taken in JPEG...
Most important, do we have a way to communicate whit this buyer? Because the mail was saying, that if I wasn't able to give this file, just ignore the mail and even the next one who can be sent attached to this picture.
It's important because, I want at the minimum to say that I don't have it, if he don't want the unphotoshoped one.

Personally I would only provide/sell the raw file at a premium. To me it would be like selling off the original film file-in the analog world. I can't imagine a justifiable need for the Raw file unless a complete buy out was in order.
Just my thought.

I had that happen and was hesitant, but thought well... I'll try once and see what happens. I uploaded my raw file and the buyer downloaded it as a subscription sale and I got 30 cents! What a rip. Won't do that again.
I believe they only want the raw format, not an untouched jpg. If you took the original in jpg and not raw, your out of luck anyway, I believe.

Is there a way you can reply to DT? Even to say "I don't have the RAW file", it would be polite to be able to let the requestor know.

It's like I said. There is no way to reply to the user and it's that I find regrettable. They just send the request and say this: (Copy and paste here)
This notification was sent by a potential buyer, who is interested to download one of your files in an additional format. If you are able to provide such format please use the following link in order to upload it:...(My file)
If you are not able to provide this specific format or do not want to do it, simply ignore this message and any that might follow. Depending on their frequency (and buyers' interest) you can adjust your future response. If you will submit one, the buyer will be informed automatically.
It say you can adjust your future response...But where, there nothing in my account page or profile page.
And the buyer will be informed automatically...And if not it seem he is not going to be informed???

I meant reply to DT staff/support, and they may forward the reply.

Did they politely ask, or did they actually "demand" the RAW file as you wrote? If the latter, I would completely ignore them. Nobody paying a few dollars for an image is in a realistic position to demand anything.

it is a standard 'request' button on dreamstime... the buyer may request / ask for the photographer to upload the raw file if they are interested.... it is fairly clear that it is optional

In a number of languages 'demand' (it's equivalent) doesn't have the same imperative force that it does in English. In French, for example, 'demander' simply means 'to ask'.

good point! in such cases we could avoid misunderstandings by bearing in mind this is an international type of business and there might be cultural differences especially when the person in question is not a native speaker of the language(English in this case).
