seems like it's not a good time to upload on DT. i have pictures in the queue for 19 days now. plus am i getting rejections i never had before. maybe i stop uploading there for a while. it looks like the reviewers who didn't get their summer vacations are in a lazy and very, very bad mood...  >:(

edit: sample pic taken off - no itension to pimp pics here... :-X

I don't see it, looks like a good photo to me...

But honestly, there's no point complaining here and pimping your pics because none of us can do anything about it or change it. If you want a review of your photo because you are looking for help, you should post, asking for a critique...either here, in the Photo Critique section so people know you are looking for critique, or on the DT critique forum.

Whatever... They probably think you should have rainbow background there ;-)

It is no big deal - who can create is creating, who can't do the reviews!

;-)

I'm having the same problems, but at Shutterstock. Rejections used to be really rare.. less than 1%... but during summer almost everything I upload is being rejected

I think you ask same thing in another posting, no?
but here I answer again..
Dreamstime new review is sometime mystery too  expecially when new reviews
use mostly subjective reasons. but no big deal for me. My sales are good for the oldest stuff and no sales for new stuff, so no reason to worry for new uploads because I don't give new stuff anymore.
Shutterstock is opposite. New stuff get download instant. So I like balance with Shutterstock for today and Dreamstime for 2 years older pictues in port

in the other thread i mentioned the strange rejections coz of similar shots. now this here was about review time and new rejections about exposure and light issues in shots that are accepted by all the other sites. and i also never had such problems on DT with my studio shots... :-(

looks like DT has enough pics and starts to reject more often

Nobody should take this as an attack or critique or whatever, but why all these posters having grunges against DT and its acceptance policy are anonymous? What is their weight in portfolio size and experience?

For the record, I don't have any problem with similars at DT. Why? Because I just upload the best concepts of a shoot. The only reject I had lately was because I made a composite of two similar poses, and the reviewer asked me to upload them separately. Quite the opposite. Next to iStock (that is very strict on technical quality), DT has the most reliable and steady reviewers, in my experience.

It's also very difficult to comment about rejections when the images are not shown.

hehe - i showed a picture in my initial post but then i got taught by cclapper i should not post (pimp) my pics here. so i took it away... :-\
at present i got 754 pics online and 13 in the queue (1 for 20 days and 2 for 19 days now). acceptance ratio is 83.8%

DT is slow reviewing, but never had a photo waiting that long, a week tops.. rejections are average/understandable, 60% approval

OK sorry, I stand corrected. I must have missed the pictures, but anyways, I don't feel it would be pimping. There aren't much buyers around here, and showing a shot is like showing off a home-made bread in a bakery shop.  :P

20 days is extremely long indeed. My maximum was 9 days or so. I uploaded 10 on July 17 and they staid at 152 hrs ETR for 4 days. Now they went to 128hrs. That batch has already been accepted at iStock (uploaded at the same time).

It's just a guess but maybe DT wants to stick with their trusted and seasoned reviewers. SS obviously brought in some fresh ones to compensate for the holidays, and you can tell by the unusual rejects. In that case I prefer the policy of DT and wait a little longer.

Just for the record, there is a difference between telling you not to pimp your photos and suggesting that this was the wrong vehicle in which to pimp them. As you can see above, I suggested that you post in photo critique forum, so that others might give you some insight. Rather than posting a bunch of b-tch and moan threads about DT.

Everyone has different experiences with DT. I, like FD-regular, have not had major issues with DT so I can't quite grasp what you are complaining about. Though I am sure in the beginning I griped and moaned a lot!

It looks like you have a fairly large port...I would just suggest not uploading for a while and then testing the waters again with a few shots. We all have learned to do that...at all the sites, not just DT.

i don't see much difference between what you said in your first post and mine where i repeated it. but i got your point. i just faced (and of course disliked) some changings on DT and wanted to share them...

I'm new, so maybe my opinion doesn't count, but I'll put in my 2 cents anyway. I saw the pic before it was removed. I didn't see it as "pimping" your work.  An example of what you were referring to. As I said, I'm new, but I also have been experiencing the no rhyme or reason rejections. I just shrug it off and move on. I had 2 pics of a turtle, one in one out of the shell. One accepted, one rejected for bad composition. It's not just DT but from what I've  been reading, its everywhere this summer.

Anyway, that's my humble input

if it goes longer than a week, just sendan email to the site asking if everythin's ok -- i had some pix sit for about 120 days at SS - turns out they hadnt uploaded properly - they showed in my Q as pending review, but in theirs as needing more info; so it took an email to get them unstuck

shift happens, as geologists say

Apart from a technical glitch, there is another hypothesis. I can't comment on this in public.

finally i contacted DT by email and got the following reply within 24h:

Thank you for contacting us.  There was a technical error that caused those images to be overlooked.  It has been corrected, and your images will be reviewed shortly.

approximately another 24h later all my pending pics got accepted - thks for this DT  :)
