I bought some portable lightning equipment for my little sutudio for people. I am still waiting the batteries from ebay, and I have my first photo shooting on 16th August with models, until then I will test and calibrate lightning...... I cant wait to get results.....

(4 flashes for background blow out (2 tall, and 2 short ones), 2 with difusers for direct lightning, and one (Canon) bouncing from the celing.

All connected with radio or optic triggers.

They help to keep the model from catching on fire from all of the light.

inflatable softbox for hotshoe flashes,which can be found on ebay:)

yeah, they are inflatible. they are good if global warming melt down polar caps, and big flood happens, so they can save a life by keeping you float. lol

First test (this is me)

(with minor photoshop adjustmets of white balance and croping, no isolation needed, it is isolated automaticaly! finaly my nightmares with isolating people are over!

)

7 total.

4 for background, and 3 in front (2 with difusors on left and right side, and one (Canon 430ex) in the middle bouncing from the celing).

Hey you don't look anything like your avatar!

Nicely done. Consider moving the subject a bit further from the background or reducing the light output of the background lights just a bit. There's a little wraparound up by your ear and right shoulder and a little more on your left calf.

Yeah I tought of moving the subject about 1 meter more away from background. I will test it some more before I make some real stock photos.

Today I was just testing is everything working properly. hehe.

Just curious...

would you mind sharing how much that entire set up cost you? What brand are the flashes? I'd like to add more light to my set up, but I don't want the expense of adding more full size studio heads.

I didnt calculate precisely, but about 500-600$ (flashes, tripods, radio and optic trigers, difusors, batteries (a lot of them!))....

flashes are some "cheap" Chineese crappy units, but they work OK!

YINYAN is brand name (never heard of it lol)

Peter,

It's all about the light as you have discovered. The cost of proper lighting will be offset by your reduced photoshop worktime and hopefully increased revenue.

I have heard there are some longevity issues with those Ebay units so let us know how things are working.
