While several microstock agencies have reduced my earnings lately by introducing subs, my FP sales are really soaring this month. It's only the eleventh, and I already have a BME. In addition, FP is on a fourth place, behind SS, FT and IS (just 20% behind IS), and way ahead of DT, StockXpert, BS and 123. This obviously doesn't reflect the number of sales, but my earnings, since FP pays a lot more than other agencies.

It's impossible to say if this will last, but I've seen a positive trend for some time now. This means that I will continue and increase promoting my portfolio at FP (1343 images). So far, I've linked to it wherever possible, and used it as a part of my email signature. It must be possible to do more.

FP is the obvious long-term alternative for me. They may not off instant gratification, but if the growth continues, there'll be nothing like it in a couple of years   :)

I would be very happy if FP takes off one day, but...
Here are the numbers at Alexa : http://www.alexa.com/... how deep in a couple of years ?

With traffic down at the bottom with Yay and Snap I don't see much happening at FP for my stuff. No action in 2 1/2 months. Little before that. I don't bother uploading there any more.

My two sales in FP this month got me more than BigStock+CanStockPhoto+CS together and 123RF.

The Alexa stats speak for themselves.  They aren't growing their traffic.

Epixx, My theory is you are becoming a bigger fish in a smaller pond.  If this board is any indication, some very talented contributors are pulling (or have already pulled) their portfolios.  Therefore your exposure is increasing.

There are also a couple of large contributors that have recently added their portfolios. What I have noticed though, is that the number of views per download has previously been higher than on most other sites. That is now changing, which may mean that buyers who have previously been sitting on the fence are starting to buy. The fact that my referral bonuses are on the increase as well, supports that view. At the moment, I have more in referral bonuses at FP than my total sales at Crestock   :o

Interesting.  I watch Views per DL at sites too, and it is definitely indicative of the sort of buyers that are signed up.  Are they serious and looking to buy, or "just looking?"  It would be good news if more serious buyers are coming to FP.

Still no real sign of sales increasing for me and I am sure we would have more people reporting better sales if that was happening.  Some people do better there but I don't believe FP is anywhere near the top 8 sites for most of us.  It is now 11th on my earnings list, as SV and mostphotos have moved above it.

It does probably have something to do with the portfolio, but since FP has a different acceptance policy than most microstock agencies, they may attract more clients from traditional agencies, where the decision process is usually much longer. That would mean that it will take longer times for sales to pick up as well.

Many of the images that I sell at FP are slow sellers elsewhere, and some of them aren't even uploaded anywhere else.

For me, this is happening at the same time as I have decreasing sales at a few other agencies, particularly DT and StockXpert. 123RF is also increasing, I have no idea why.

Epixx,

Not to hijack the thread, but take a look at the site analytic charts for 123RF.  Strong, steady growth for several months.  Whatever they are doing, it is working.  They have gotten themselves firmly into the Top 6.

My sales are way up at 123 too.  Then there's Fotolia...<sigh>

123RF and FT are the big winners for me at the moment, and for the first time ever, my sales at FT seems to be passing IS. FP is still in fourth spot this month. The losers are DT and StockXpert. My biggest problem at DT is that almost all vector sales there are subs. That has made a major impact on my earnings.

Halfway through the month, and it's still:

SS - FT - IS - FP - DT - StockXpert - 123 - BS

Apart from IS, my portfolio is approximately the same size with all of these. A very interesting race indeed  :)

I have stopped uploading at FP a while now.
I mean no sales in 5 months says it all!

BME, and more than 100% up from the previous BME. Interesting, since July is one of my slowest months. Also nice that the sales were spread all over the month, so it's apparently not one shot from a single customer. FP was slightly better than 123rf this month, and much better than BS.

DanP,

I'm sorry to hear that Dan. I made $22.58 from my BME in July.

As part of my complementing strategy to my microstock sales, I use FP as a "midstock" site with the plan of getting a few higher commission sales there over time. So far, its working.

Yeah, its not a huge seller for me either, one or two a month on average, but its so easy to process photos into their queue now with their batch editor that I can't justify *not* uploading there.  Practically no time commitment on my part, so nothing to lose.
