I was expecting this to come after Freepik removed lots of Ai images I have generated. Now the Adobe are following same strategy. Probably they want to offload the tons of Ai duplicates.

Glad that I havent wasted money on Ai

We hope this message finds you well.

As part of our commitment to providing the best content discovery experience for both customers and contributors, we have identified duplicates on Adobe Stock that will be removed from the site beginning on March 4, 2025. You are receiving this email because you have 1 or more assets that will be removed.

All removed duplicates can be found in your contributor portal under Uploaded Files - Not Accepted. All assets were evaluated to ensure minimal impact to your portfolio.

Best regards,

Adobe Stock Contributor Relations

I also received this email, will this affect my seller account?

I had this email too.

It seems to have binned 15 out of 20 of my last upload batch and nothing else at all.  No idea what criteria they used there.  Seems very random.
These were real images not AI (aerial shots of tropical rainforest).

If removed and appearing in the "uploaded files not accepted" list, do they appear deep down in the list based on date, or do they appear as new rejections?
For example, if they decide to "unaccept" a file submitted five years ago. Does the rejection appear five years back in the list or does it show up as the latest "rejection"?

But are these removed files already present now in the "uploaded files not accepted" list, or will we find them starting from March 4th?

I can't even tell if the images in the list were originally just rejected or getting removed as duplicates. I don't see anything flagged as duplicate, just regular rejections flags, so I guess nothing still shows up as per this email.

A few of my best sellers were removed as "non-compliant" for use of AI.  I don't use AI.  I never have.  I have sent support a message about that, and plan to re-upload some of them.

Adobe is my best site, I hope they don't crater themselves.

Sorry to hear. Did the rejections appear as new rejections, or were they deep down in the rejection list commensurate with the time you originally submitted them?

I received this email too but I don't have any ai images and nothing appears in the rejection list other than what was there before.

AND, in some cases both of the duplicates were deleted as "already submitted"

how annoying.

52 of my photos and videos are marked for deletion on March 4, 2025. Clips and photos (6 - 7 years old) from the time when I was uploading a whole series. But, yes you are right now... I noticed that they are not only duplicates but the whole batch :)) This action has nothing to do with those generated with AI, I don't have anything like that in my portfolio.

You you can check under Uploaded files -> Not accepted (section). They are not ordered as they should be...u must click on each of your rejected files and u'll see the reason "similar video(s) already submitted" and start counting :))

It is easy for me because I didn't have many rejections for this reason and I know all my files that are online...same for images :)

I looked through my rejects. I found 7 listed as removed for similar. Of those I was able to find 2 that were still in my portfolia with a different # and thus I think the correct removal of a duplicate. 2 were images that had quite similar images still in my port. The rest I couldn't find anything particularly similar - unless you consider something like one mountain in Colorado similar to another - which I guess is possible.

so out of 7,
2 completely correct
2 reasonably correct
1 could be argued ok
2 not even close

Other things I found while looking through the rejects - 5 rejected for "non compliant" with mention of " - Non compliant use of another artists name.- Undeclared Generative AI Content. or- Content not compliant with overall guidelines" most of these are from before AI images were a possibility and I have never submitted AI images. I don't know if these were previously accepted and then pulled later or never got accepted. Some could have possible IP problems (like a close up of Washington from a dollar bill with bandages on him), but others I just don't know.

The really big takeaway is how arbitrary the rejections are - usually a string in a row for the same reason - focus, quality issues, artifacts, exposure, or aesthetic or commercial appeal of image. With the last reason occasionally given for images that sold well on other sites. Sure, their sandbox, their rules, but looking at the AI dreck they accepted it does make one wonder what they are thinking, or if it is just some algorithm or inspector just clicking a reject reason.

I got a few of those recections "not flagged as AI" for some of the images from series of macro shots of milk splashes.

I did not receive this e-mail. Regardless, I still looked at my 'non accepted' files and didn't notice any extras in there. Don't recall seeing any 'similar' rejections.

I don't know why so many people are convinced that this must be related to AI imaging. There's no mention of AI in the e-mail text in the opening post.

It's just as easy to produce a similar or nearly identical looking photograph. Simply shoot the same subject twice or more with the same composition. If the camera's mounted to a tripod, the resulting images are going to look the same. Or alternatively - create another copy of a photo file on the computer (Save as) and there you have a duplicate.

Terrible stuff and totally unfair. I hope you can appeal.

i've had several images labeled as AIgen on several recent batches - support however almost always agrees with the result by changing the rejection reason to 'quality issues'

otoh, SS also issues AIgen rejects but support issues a case # and on  re-submitting they are accepted

IMO Adobe Stock is now treating contributors as poor as other agencies. Adobe's broken review system (for me anyway) has moved me to abandon stock as my main goal for future income prospects.

Find out tomorrow.  ;D I went through all of mine and yes I got the same email, and no nothing was recently removed for being similar. I did find one from years ago, which is funny, because it's a one of a kind, background pattern. Just can't wait to see what happens, when they actually start doing this, not just sending an email.
