Also just to clarify. If we upload to FL our content is mirrored to AS, is the inverse also true? If I upload to AS will my content also go to the old FL site? Is there any extra delay in either direction?

Just having a look round. All reference to rank refers to "Fotolia Rank", nothing about rank on AS. Dude tell me you aren't thinking about busting our ranks and commissions down for AS sales.

Yes, all approved content submitted through the portal will appear in your Fotolia portfolio also.

Your Fotolia rank is still relevant in the same ways. All Adobe Stock sales will add to your sales count for rank at Fotolia.

So what are the benefits if we already upload to Fotolia?
Why should we move to the new site?

I'm expecting Adobe to concentrate on this site and just maintain Fotolia as is...I had a look and couldn't see any advantage...in time It might have better features.......

Thanks for the great feedback everyone. Keep in mind, this is a beta site so more features will be released as time goes on. Your input it very helpful. Right now, the bulk of the features will benefit contributors new to the submission process. We are working to simplify the upload process for everyone. As the beta site evolves, I expect you will begin to see more and more features that are advantageous to your workflow. If you are content with the Fotolia upload experience, there is no reason for you to change at this time though I still recommend you sync your accounts and take a look.

There are currently several specific features that you may like as existing contributors.

In the Adobe Stock contributor portal you will find the auto-keywording tool which is helpful if you are not adding your metadata in advance.

In addition, you can drag and drop your images into the web uploader which was a feature many have asked for. There is not a limit as to how many images you can drop at once which was another feature requested by many.

Also, something else that will be useful for some of you is that in the portal you can edit the keywords and title of your existing content if necessary.

Duly noted! That feature isn't available at this time though I have logged the request.

Some new reports would be nice as someone noted e.g total income by image. And a nice graphical "Dashboard" would be nice.

If I understand correctly, you can add/remove keywords and titles from files, that were already accepted and are online? If that is true, I will for sure upload through adobe.stock.

Hi Mat!

First of all, thank you for great news about new contributor platform! Excellent!

I have a question about sync my Adobe ID with my Fotolia account. For my Adobe ID I use different email adress as it usess for my Adobe Fotolia contributor page. Is this a problem?

In first post you say: "We strongly recommend to sync your accounts, which is only available on your initial login. You will not have the option to do it at a later time. "

So can you please tell me how to sync my Adobe ID with my Fotolia account without making an issue?

Thank you for answer!

Best regards!

This seems like valuable info on why to sync your accounts....

Adobe Stock Contributor - Are there any advantages when I sync my account?

Yes! You will have access to your existing assets and account information in the Adobe Stock contributor portal and can continue to enjoy the benefits of your Fotolia rank instead of starting over with a new account.

I can't figure out what that means exactly.  If they terminate Fotolia.. and your account isn't synced, you loose your rank?  Or, your sales/search placement on adobe are only rank based if your accounts are synced?

actually it would be good that adobe comes up to be different from fotolia.
in a manner that would compete against getty/ is /ss...
what i mean is to bring in a higher non-microstock pricing to move away from the
micro  all you can swallow for peanuts ;

if anyone can do it, it would be adobe to bring in a new market for stock photog!

Hi Mat and thanks for the good news.

I have a question too, maybe too early for an answer but I'll ask.
I have seen in contributor help, two instances of this:

Quote
What is your commission structure?

Every time someone purchases your content, you get a 33% commission for photos and vector art and a 35% commission for videos based on the price of the image.

Fotolias commission rates differ from Adobe Stock. For sales that occur on Fotolias website, contributors will get paid the Fotolia commission rates. Read about Fotolias commission structure here.
https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/account-payment.html
https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/help/contribute.html - How do I get paid?

Except that AD doesn't offer exclusivity, considering that our rank still counts after sync accounts,  in what else does FT commission rates differ from Adobe Stock (or vice-versa)?

On the other hand, in the email received:
Quote
Should you decide to try out the new experience, your Fotolia account will function as usual. Even if you sync your Fotolia account on Adobe Stock (which we would highly recommend you to do so!), you will still be able to access and use your Fotolia account on Fotolia.com, and the commission rates remain the same whether you upload via Fotolia or Adobe Stock.

Thanks.

I synced my account but maybe starting again with the Adobe site would of been a good idea, as I'm selling so little with FT.  I hope they have different search algorithms on the Adobe site, as many of us have seen our sales fall off a cliff with FT and never recover.

I still haven't had the possibility to check: is there a new FTP server to upload to if I want to submit through Adobe Stock instead of Fotolia?

You can drag and drop your files (maximum file size 30 MB) or upload via FTP. For an FTP upload, use your own FTP client and click on the Learn More option on the portals upload page to obtain the server information and your one-time personal password.

Note: Videos can only be uploaded through FTP at this time.

Great point @Leaf. If you opt not to sync and you create a new account with your Adobe ID on the contributor portal you will essentially be starting a new account in addition to your Fotolia account.

Rank will still count, however you will be starting over at white on the content you submit through the portal. That content would not be added to your existing portfolio and those sales will not count towards your existing rank but instead will begin working towards a new rank.

There is no reason not to sync that I can think of.

Did you sleep it over? As said, your files from Fotolia are mirrored to Adobe stock. So what good it would be to start new account? If you're not selling now, you wont either if you create new acc.

I like the layout of the new site.

One thing that I would like to know: As there is no category on Adobe site, wouldn't it be a problem for the Folotia search if we index the files on Adobe?

A very good improvement on the file stats would be the total earnings by file  ;D

Cheers!
