Hello, I was blocked for 3 weeks, the rating was 1500-2000, after unlocking for 1 week the rating was 18 800.... Have you returned sales? I would be very grateful to hear an answer from MatHayward about this too.

Sorry i am not MatHayward. Just my two-cents.
Think that search algorithm is company confidence.
If your portfolio don't get sales for about 3 weeks it will have an impact of search algorithm and sales. it probably will take some time for your portfolio to recover.

Where can I see my rating ?

in the dashboard, select "Lifetime" in the timeframe drop-down box in the left upper corner.
You can also check your position for "this week"

Thanks Roscoe.
For me, there is nothing in the position field, only a minus sign.
Maybe because I only have videos in my portfolio or because my account is only a few months old?

you've even been in the top 2000.... I have over 18k of media on Adobe and scrapping the barrel since forever in the bottom 18000 rank.  :o

Yes, it's sad, you need to get through to him somehow, I'll see what comes out in a month

It's got nothing to do with the age of your port, Findura.
As far as I know no ranking is displayed if a certain amount of downloads is not reached.

and the ranking is based on # of downloads, not $, so you might make a good amount with videos but rank very poorly because it is appears to be solely based on the # of downloads - perhaps per period of time, but I think it is just the overall # compared to everyone else.

Right = downloads not dollars.

It used to be 200, now?

Here are some collected lifetime numbers. First set is from someone else.

Old data 2019
8,000/4,700
5,000/8,500
1,400/28,000
1,200/32,000
450    /67,000
200    /120,000

From others ranks 2022
40,000/2,230
11,660/7,440
8,030/10,000
2,000/25,000

Note the crossing point from 2019, when 8,000 DLs was a position of 4,700 and now 8,000 is a position of 10,000. About twice as many people have 8,000 DLs now as people who did in 2019.  8)

I know some people think this matters, but I don't. Images have ranks, not artists? And I don't think the weekly position is worth the time to view. If I get 10 DLs on Monday, mine is way up. If I have a slow Wed. then I drop way down. All it's telling is, how many DLs did I have, compared to other accounts. If I have 1,000 images and someone else has 10,000 the position is kind of obvious. Mine is always going to be lower by Sunday.

What value is there in knowing my weekly position, by # of downloads? And other than amusement, what does my position tell me if I'm looking at Lifetime? My earnings tell me what I want to know.

The problem of Dimaximus is that his portfolio lost a good ranking in search algorithm.
If the images/footage are not found they won't sale. One strategy maybe could be to upload consistently every week so that images/footage are found in new images/footage search.
Without uploading it probably would be hard to recover a good ranking in search algorithm.

Thank you, it seems to me that this is how it is, that you need to work again to get the work into the top

Can you explain for us how a portfolio ranking works? Adobe says the images get ranked in the first 30 days they are active, nothing about portfolio or artist.

They do and even show you your ranking. Go to your dashboard and select time frame, either all time or by week and Adobe will show you your portfolio rank.
They don't explain how it works, but how many sales you have seems to be a main factor.

Rank by downloads which is actually Position. But that doesn't mean the search uses the position, does it? That's an assumption people make about how the search might work.

I'm not a high position in total downloads,  I don't have 1,000 images on AS, so I won't have a very high position. but in one search, as an example, over 110,000 results, I have three on page one. They just happened to be, some of my best selling images.

My conclusion, based on evidence and searching, is that, images are ranked by popularity and downloads, not by artist position. Position is just an amusing number for reference. I can't expand on that, to what some people are claiming, that position makes a difference on placement or rank. There's no proof or evidence for that assumption.

I don't think anyone is making that assumption? At least I haven't seen anyone state it like that. Image placement and portfolio rank (or position) are 2 separate things and one has nothing to do with the other. Portfolio rank is only there to show you how good or bad you are doing in comparison to other contributors. I don't think it serves any other purpose.

Of course, I don't know how the algorithm works either. But I still believe that the portfolio ranking plays a role. I can imagine that for newly uploaded images with average quality and average sales potential, the images of a contributor with a good portfolio ranking will be found better in the search than contributors with a poor portfolio ranking. I might be wrong though.

I use weekly rank more than the overall ranking. If I've released a batch of imagery aimed at a specific annual event I can monitor how I'm performing as a result of the new imagery compared to previous years. If I drop below a certain weekly rank I then look for imagery that will help me boost sales for that particular time of year. Overall ranking is of passing interest only as the only thing I learn from it is where I am based on all sales ever made. (edit) and I guess whether someone above me is doing better than I am for that point in time. Still not useful in terms of planning what I'll shoot / produce though.
