Just played around with alexa.com 's time-machine, this handy little thing allows you to see how a site looked in the past, that is what I found at

http://web.archive.org/web/20070407181326/http://www.fotolia.com/

Now, that is either the biggest clean out in microstock history or Fotolia "lost" during the transition to V2 over 800 000 images

Images on line 7th April 2007 2,869,750
Images on line today            1,957,503

They said they would clean up the database, didn't they?  Old images without sales, but I don't know the criteria.  I haven't checked to see if any of mine were deleted.

Adelaide

The number is still dropping, so I think they are daily removing everything without sales for 18 months, and are still not reviewing new images.

I think they're just lost in cyberspace somewhere along with the keywords.

One of 3 dissapeared yesterday as soon as I hit submit.  The other two are still pending.  I did receive an e-mail that they declined photo vt27 or something equally as useless to me... Not very useful to someone who may have submitted a few dozen!

What they do makes sense to me, and my sales at FT is better than ever. Just had my latest batches approved as well  ;D

Maybe this was the best thing that happend with V2. After V2 (and cleanup) my sales are increased dramaticaly, so it is a good thing from my point of view. Customers can much easier find some new imagaes.
