Hello,

I actually have a problem with submitting illustrations of flags to Adobe Stock...

I have done one flag illustration for each country in the world (253 different flags) and about a third of my flags have been rejected due to "similar content with other of my images". So I stopped the upload after 150 flags, as i don't want to get blocked again for similiar content.

The attached image (Sorry, it is in german) shows the rejected Iran flag as an example, which is simliar to other flags in the world but i haven't uploaded any other Iran flag.

Any ideas what i can do to get the flags accepted?

Thanks in advance

Unless the rejection has changed does it actually say "similar content with other of my images" or does it say similar content, which could include other images of the same, from other people. I might be wrong, but Adobe was one that rejected for too many similar images.
In the first case, personal images, I don't think you are submitting similar, when they are all different flags? Maybe Mat or someone from AS can give the authorized, and correct version of the answer.

I don't see yours as one of the listed reasons? (not that I'm big on flags or the same image 99 times, with nothing but a different flag? But yours don't seem against the rules.)

Yours are more useful. Anyone could use one and any cheeseburger and make what they wanted?  :)

I checked it again, it says in german:

DE: "Wir haben bei der berprfung festgestellt, dass Ihr Bild anderen, bereits von Ihnen hochgeladenen Bildern hnelt. Daher knnen wir es leider nicht in unsere Collection aufnehmen."

EN (with DeepL translate:) "Upon review, we have determined that your image is similar to other images you have already uploaded. Therefore, unfortunately, we can not include it in our collection."

And yes, of course flags are not very exclusive image - I am trying to cover more themes ;-)

I hope you can get someone from support to give you the agency correct answer.

Just because I don't favor something, that doesn't make it bad or wrong. I hope you understand. One would think that flags are always useful for many people and the different ways of representing them could make a difference.

Now sliced vegetables, flowers, pets, clouds...  ;) they should just have a blanket, "Please don't upload these" unless they are exceptional, different and something a buyer might want.

I can say the same for some of my over supplied shots and concepts. But heck, if they take them, I'll upload.

Lets see if the support of AdobeStock will help :-)

I expect they will help, they are very helpful  ;)

I asked our moderation team supervisor to look into this. He determined that the majority of rejections you referenced were not actually for "similar files" but were rejected for technical flaws including excessively burned texture. Some files with the burned texture or other technical flaws did actually get approved which was an error. The team is re-reviewing the files. Those that were refused as similar but otherwise meet our technical requirements will be pushed online. Those that were approved in error that don't actually meet our technical requirements will be refused. Those that were rejected for technical reasons will remain offline. We will not be able to put the entire collection online due to the quality issues.

For future questions like this, I would encourage you to reach out to the contributor relations team via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock contributor portal as it's not always possible to provide specific support for an individual case through a forum.

Kind regards,

Mat Hayward

Hello Mat,

thanks for your reply - Yes, the support was quick and had a good answer to this, like this:
"It may happen, that wrong rejection reasons will be submitted, which means similarity can happen in my portfolio or in the Adobe Stock database".

I am totally fine with that and can understand, that Adobe maybe doesn't want to have hundreds of different 'country XY'-flags :-)

And yes, i know some of the images have been rejected doe to quality issues - I have of course only written down the image IDs in the support email which have been rejected due to "similarity" (14 Images).

Actually I am waiting for an answer to the question, if uploading the remaining 100 flags I have here waiting, could lead to an account block as I had one before due to similar content. As you can imagine I do not want to get blocked again ;-)

Will do that, thanks for the hint.

Have a nice day @all

I wouldn't expect you to get blocked for spam if the flags are representing different countries, but it's a fine line here. If you are submitting the same flag but with different variations such as waving in the wind vs static then that likely will be perceived as spam.

I see very little value to this sort of batch upload. There is a more-than-abundant supply of these types of files. I strongly recommend you focus your time and energy elsewhere.

I think I got the message :-)

Of course i would not submit the same flag in different 'Wind positions", there is one flag per country, which I did process with my own software - so it took me about 15 minutes to create the complete 253-all countries collection.

Thanks again,
Michael
