Ok, I give in. I have signed up with an account but can't see any way of uploading. When I click on the "sign up" link on the "Start selling pictures" page, it hyperlinks to my set up account details with no instructions about contributing. ???

If you select "my files", there are various upload options on the right pf the screen.

It didn't work. When I went to upload and keyword I finally (After all that) got the message "Your account needs to be validated before you can submit. Sending conformation email". Again, I am already logged in with a username and password. It just goes round in circles..... ???

If I get an image accepted, can I delete /disable it until my exclusive account on another site has ended ?

There's not a lot of point in doing that - no "entrance exam" and if you delete an approved image (easy enough - I uploaded a few by mistake and was able to delete easily) you will have top submit / go through approval again.  Wait times for review are pretty negligible compared to say DT or IS.

Just a thought -you need to go to the email they send to your home email address (not the internal one shown in sitemail). Click the link on that email to activate your account. It will be instant and you are away. Hope that helps. Regards, David.

As an exclusive at IS, I feel it's time to move on and get sales elsewhere as they are not rewarding me for my loyalty. in fact, it's depressingly dire. For others of similar ilk with around 800 files (I thought I had more there) Will it be at least worth putting my best selling images in Fotolia or are they as frustratingly hard to get images passed like IS have become ?

I can't imagine that stuff accepted on IS would have a problem but there are various rejection threads about the other big 4 sites.  Personally, very rarely get rejections at FT (or SS or DT) but have given up submitting to IS as virtually everything gets rejected.  FT wouldn't be my first choice - SS has similar returns per download but much higher volumes, DT pays better but small volumes.

Ok, great. I have given up trying to get on SS as it's nigh on impossible. Also, I hear their rejection rate is high now also.

I've been on SS for nearly three years now, and I don't remember it being too tough.  I think I got something like 5 of the 10 submissions rejected the first try, then stepped back and looked at what I was submitting.  I changed the mix to reflect a greater variety of topics, and made absolutely sure there weren't any flaws.  On the second try all 10 were accepted.

As for submissions being accepted/rejected once you're approved as a contributor, there's a wide variety of feelings on this forum about that.  Me, I'm still sailing through with nearly 100% approvals.  Just make sure your stuff is error-free, it appeals to buyers (does it actually meet a need that the existing millions of images don't?), and that you have a unique style (maybe there are other images with similar content, but are you presenting it in a different way to set you apart?)

Good luck!

I Did post images here about a year ago for feedback but I came away more confused and frustrated than before I posted.

Well I got a rejection for my first image that sells at Istock. They don't even inform me which image it is, they unly give me a number. How do I find out which image it was ? It doesn't show on my account.
