Anyone else waiting over ten days for a payout request to go through at FT? Usually it only takes a day or two ....

8 days for me.  Haven't contacted support, but I will if it goes to 10 days.  Not that contacting FT support will do any good, but they may try to help eventually.

I just received (this morning) a payout requested Sept 27th.

I contacted support last Thursday - after waiting one week - and the reply said the usual "sorry for the inconvenience" and that payouts typically take 2 weeks.

Perhaps that's their new norm, but it's pretty sad if that's the case. In the past it has varied widely from same day to 10 days, but never 2 weeks. I guess I'm supposed to feel happy that my payment today was "early"?!

I'm annoyed, so I resurrect this old thread.

The payment routines at FT are annoying to such a degree that I suggest everybody who have to wait more than 5 days for payment, write a mail to support.

I suppose I'm not the only one who try to synchronise payments from all agencies around the same time of the month to reduce banking fees etc.. I've made a rule of always requesting payment from Fotolia first, since their reputation isn't very good in this area. Still, I usually end up waiting for the money from them before I can get access to my money.

It wouldn't have been such a big problem if this was predictable, but it isn't, and the actual routine is, as far as I have seen, not published on their website.

Currently, I'm on my 9th day of waiting. There's no reason why we should have to wait that long for an electronic money transfer.

I sent a mail to support, inquiring about their payment routines. Their answer was "We try to pay out every 1 week". Obviously, they don't succeed at that, and I wonder why on earth they can't. I mean: it's as simple as running a relatively automated routine every Monday or Tuesday or whateverday.

Since I try to coordinate all money requests towards the end of the month, and I assume that many others do that as well, having to wait for one agency to pay, more often than not, is extremely annoying.

Oh well, I'll just have to continue nagging them. If more people would do that, maybe they find the strength to improve their routines.

I am having a similar routine as you do. And I am waiting for a payout myself. Last month it didn't take this long. Guess time to contact support here as well.

My last few payments took 13 days. So I am used to wait up to 14 days (2 weeks).

I agree, they should have fixed intervals, even like SS, once per month, this is totaly unpredictable. I never know when could it happen, tomorow, or in 10 days... so it is hard to plan other payment requests....

but it is not catastrophy after all... most important is that I get my money.... :)

Just an update about FT payments, I'm not sure everyone is aware that FT now requires us to upload a copy of a passport or ID before we request a withdrawal.  You only need to upload, no "approval" time is required.

It was good because it reminded me that my passport is expiring in a few months.

My last request - as yet unpaid - is from May 9th. Fotolia payments seem highly unpredictable, and can be as fast as a few hours or as slow as two weeks (the time support said it could take in response to an earlier inquiry from me).

Today I saw an entry on my "My Credits" page that I have never seen before. Underneath the row that said Available Credits (which showed my current credit balance) was another row that said:

Credits to expire on 06-14-2008:     50

My current balance is less than 50; contributor's credits never expire; I've never purchased any credits from Fotolia. I have no idea what this is about. Does anyone else have an entry like this?

I received my payout yesterday, and support's answer about the 50 credits was that they were promotional credits given me at some point. I have no idea what they're talking about, but I will look carefully June 14th to make sure they don't take 50 credits away!

I'm guessing this was something related to a payout problem I'd had ages ago (there were 50 credits the system wouldn't let me cash out for reasons they couldn't figure out). Perhaps someone did something behind the scenes then that now looks like promotional credits.

waiting for 8 day s now for payout!  how long does it take?

It depends. They process payments once per week, usually on Tuesday (but not always). So, if you asked a payment just the day before they do processing, it will take 1 day. And If you asked one day after pay day, it will take you 8-10 days. Problem is we dont know exactly when is a pay day. So it can take 1-12 days usualy.

I agree with NYT - it is silly we have to wait for a payout before we can request another.  And with the snails pace of their payouts that means a pretty long wait for most of us while they sit on our $

Congrats on the big sales boom, though!  That's always a treat :D

I've been having problems off and on, too, from a few sites myself.  IS was the worst case, because I decided to try their direct deposit program.  My bank couldn't process the payment and it took three weeks of back and forth with Payoneer before it finally showed up in my account.

I was beginning to think they're going out of business or something (sorry - my first post here is doom and gloom sounding).

I finally hit my first $50 mark there, and put in a Paypal payment request. A week goes by, and they tell me I have to resubmit my photo ID to my profile, which I do. Then they tell me it doesn't have all the info they need? (It's a U.S. driver's licence). They have my SSN on file, anyway. So I email them again, and they say it's "processing and can take up to two weeks". So, 20 days goes by with no word. I email again. No reply other than to say it's processing. Then I call them during regular business hours... their phone rings 22 times before it answers, and it sounds like a very basic voice mail machine (!) I send yet another email, and now they ask me for my user name, and all info about the request (wouldn't they HAVE this as I submitted the request when I was logged in??). I give them that, and so far - no answer.

I'm sorry - this seems very fishy to me. This is the type of behavior a company does when it's about to shut down or is being taken over by someone, and they're avoiding everyone - either that or we're talking about complete incompetence on the part of the staff there.

Has anyone else had this problem out of them before? I guess so from reading posts, but it just seems so odd.  With iStock, Shutterstock, and Dreamstime I've never had any delays or problems at all getting payments. I'm still waiting for Fotolia to tell me they still need a DNA and urine sample from me next!

there is no problem. as far as I can remember fotolia is paying every 10-12th day of their internal cycle. so if you are lucky to ask payment a day before end of cycle you will get money in 1 day. if you are unlycky to ask payment day after end of cycle you will get money in 10-12 days. simple as that, and it has been like that in last year, at least.

yes the payment from Fotolia comes slowly sometimes, but it comes without problems.

Asking for and ID at registration or at the first payment is normal practice for all microstocks, and they will not do that every time (only once in beginning).

I understand there's certain things they need, but they now have had everything they need from me for a long time.   Just today when they replied to my last email they again said they needed my user name and the date of the original request - even though I've sent this to them TWICE already and told them so, and even also left it on their voice mail!

They're driving me mad - it's like listening to a broken record over and over.   If it were five or ten dollars I'd just tell these people to shove it and close my account, but when you get to $50 - hey, that's my phone bill for a month. LOL.  I need that during the Xmas season.  ARGH   I can honestly say I've never dealt with such an incompetent company in my 42 years of life. And hey - I've even been to Alabama!

I'm not worried about Fotolia going out of business.  The sales there are good.

But this is really getting to be a PITA waiting so long for payouts.  I have one pending since the 6th now.  That is just too long.  Especially when you can only request one payout at a time.

Considering all the fraud issues and security problems they have had over the past couple of years I am not comfortable being forced to let balances accumulate in the account.

Not to mention if I could make requests more often then maybe when they FINALLY trouble themselves to pay I could collect more than one payout at a time.

Wrote to Chad and heard nothing.  Obviously paying royalties is just not a big priority with Fotolia and hasn't been for months.

I finally got mine today.  12 Days waiting.

Looks like Peter nailed it.  They pay on a 12 day cycle regardless of when you ask for it.  I always request as soon as I get a payment, so looks like I will be waiting 12 days on a regular basis.

Would it really break them to schedule payouts every week instead of nearly every two weeks?  Or alternately allow us to go back to requesting payouts while we have one outstanding (which we could always do up until a couple of months ago)?

It does not inspire warm feelings when they throw up pointless obstacles to getting our money.

Still waiting. So you guys got through the payment cycle? They are a pain in the a**. I find them and 123rf almost impossible to deal with.

Every time I want to get paid I have to reload my ID.

I asked Fotolia for a payout, and then DT 5 days later. DT paid me last Thursday. I am still "pending" with Fotolia.

The ID you uploaded on Fotolia is either illegible, doesn't contain correct ID information, or doesn't match with your profile.

We kindly ask that you upload another copy of your ID (ID card, Passport, driving license) or to modify your profile (in this case, please upload your ID again to complete the procedure).

As soon as your account has been updated with the correct information, your conversion request will be processed.

Best Regards

Fotolia Team
