I've just accepted the fact that when I upload photos to FT, I know they're gonna reject some of them.  I also know that they're probably gonna give that same reason because it's likely the easiest catch-all choice from a list that the inspectors choose from, that it's pointless to try to figure out what they like and what they don't like, and that their "reason" is completely meaningless.  So I just upload, let 'em approve what they will and reject what they will, and move on to the next site where the same thing will happen, but they'll reject different photos for different "reasons."  So between all the sites, all of my photos end up being for sale somewhere on the web.   :P

Just wondering if it is really technical, or a sinking boat?

Unable to upload file: vector.zip, reason: Image dimensions are below minimum requirements.

Unable to upload file: vector.svg, reason: Maximum file size exceeded (must be <= 2 Mbytes)

completely meaningless

Something on their forum about a change in vector file uploads ('Sticky' posted on the first page by a moderator). Don't do vectors myself so I'm unsure what the change was........summat about an increased size of jpg to be sent with vector file, if that makes sense?

As soon as you stop trying to find the reason behind FT's rejection notices, and accept some things in life will not make sense - ever, it becomes less of a frustration.

Fotolia is a "Fire and forget" site, with decent sales figures. For us they're justified in the top tier, and both sales and revenues iare increasing.

I agree.

FT are a very disappointing site for many people. I know quite a few contributors that have pulled their portfolios in the last few months. I pulled mine completely about three months ago and find it a pleasure not having to log into their site anymore and upload new images. Their site is not even bookmarked anymore - life without FT is great - although I still have to grin and bear the grubby little cowboys at iStockphoto for the time being.

You didn't really want an answer to your question, did you?

My mistake!

Preview resolution must not be less than 5000 x 3000 (15 million pixels).
Files must be less than 2 megabytes.
You need to be the author of the files uploaded on Fotolia.
Do not upload files with logos or other protected trademarks.
Vectors should be creative, detailed and clean (simple vectors lacking creative details will be refused).
    Do not upload vectorized images.

I think anything they reject is rejected for "technical reasons"
