Microsoft could afford to acquire most businesses if they felt like it. This is pure speculation from no where as far as I can see.

I hope it's just continuing speculation, because if they do, there goes the Adobe people and the good attitude towards artists. In comes the bean counters, cuts, reductions and there goes a growing agency for us. I suppose if it did happen and MS integrated the images into one huge platform, we'd get more sales there and more of the parasite agencies would finally be removed.

Here's another link, same question, dated 2013?  :o

This is clickbait. They're trying to drive traffic to their blog - Forbes has this bizarre platform

https://www.forbes.com/sites/susannahbreslin/2011/04/06/how-to-become-a-forbes-blogger/#1c600fe92862

I can't think of a single reason either company would consider this for a nanosecond

Lol, why would microsoft acquire adobe?

It would be like Kentucky Fried Chicken deciding they wanted to purchase GM, and start making cars.

Makes no sense.

Actually it does. They would then develop and install a system to prevent accidents of chickens ...that cross the road!

Money is quite cheap. If the bank gives you the money - everybody can buy Adobe for $260 billion at zero interest rate :-)

Why? Because Bill Gates has a taste for easy money. He owned Corbis for many years then sold it to VCG for a hefty profit. Guess he wants back into the game. Where else can you have a dedicated easily fooled group of people to supply you with your product and give them peanuts for their efforts? It's pretty much a cash cow for any entity/person that owns a modern day stock photo agency.

To interrupt your rant with some facts, temporarily...

Microsoft Corp and Bill Gates are two different entities. Microsoft never owned Corbis (Bill Gates did).

Bill Gates no longer runs Microsoft; Satya Nadella is the CEO.

Adobe is much more than a stock agency - if you wanted to get "back into the game", buying Adobe, Inc. would be a very odd way to do that.

I guess I need to read the article again. I thought it was all fictional speculation of the author. I don't remember reading anything from Microsoft or Adobe about a buyout.

Adobe is a software company so its not out of the question that microsoft could buy them but not especially for  the stock element. But theres no reason to think they are even remotely thinking about itat the moment.

Bill Gates doesn't run Microsoft anymore ... At all from an operations standpoint. He's still majority shareholder and shows up for things related to that but, him and Malinda are working on The Gates Foundation and other important things now.

I hate that Forbes puts these crap articles out there. I mean, it's a fair analysis of Adobe's value and would basically double the MSFT earnings but, it's not practical. Microsoft itself has transitioned quite a bit into AI, agriculture, and things ... where Adobe is still absolutely killing it with their software and cloud services. It's just impractical.

I, however, like ADBE's numbers ... that price though :/
