Do you upload images upsized for Alamy to other macro/mid sites?  They look a bit soft in the end, but not all sites are so obsessive about sharpness as micros.

I don't think its allowed on most sites, and I don't think that would be fair to the buyers.

Lizard, upsizing is as old as the hills. We don't have to do it so much anymore because of the cameras that are out, and in many cases are now downsizing. But the very sophisticated customer is totally used to upsizing. I think because it's impossible to use a set of accepted cameras in micro did the no upsizing rule become invented but I can't think of any other reason why. Upsize properly and everyone is happy. Hard to  imagine but some people actually look at the image and the not the pixels.

Lizard,

If the image is good enough to be accepted in its upsized version, I don't think it would be unfair to the buyer.

I haven't tried uploading scanned slides to Alamy yet, but even without being upsized (and I think I will need to upsize), they will already look softer than a good digital shot.

I only load upsized to Alamy. The upsizing requirements by Alamy to me is quite the joke, as skilled print professionals and designers will do a much better job of it.

I wouldnt recommend submitting upsized Alamy images to other sites. Its hard enough getting your regular images accepted without upsizing them.

I occasionally get rejects for upsizing even though I dont, talk about annoying.

I agree.  In today's world, printers know exactly what they need, let them decide.  About half of the dozen images I've sold are at the lower sizes anyways.  So now the buyer has an upsized image that has been downsized by Alamy - sloppy IMHO.
