Ive been in microstock industry for more than 1 year now and would like to get some advices about the software I am using. I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and I upload RF images to 10 different agencies. My software for preparing the images before submitting is Photoshop Elements and for the captions and keywords I use Windows 7. Uses FTP client for uploading.
Can I improve my workflow and  also get better possibilities to improve the quality of my images if I upgrade for example to Lightroom 4?
Is it in that case necessary to use both Elements and Lightroom or can Lightroom do the things Elements does?

I use Capture NX2 and shoot in RAW I use Corel Paintshop X4 if I need to do more photoshop style work I'm not that impressed with the stability  of PS but it does allow a lot of control. Filezilla is free and very good for FTP. I believe Lightroom does not do everything that Elements does.

No, elements (or PS) and LR are not the same.

Your workflow is either Bridge --> ACR --> PS or LR --> PS

Thanks for your answers. I've also done some research and it seems as LR can do the most adjustments I need to do with my RAW/JPEG files. But as you say in your answers LR can't do everything Elements does. But in my case I think LR are going to be enough for my needs so I go for LR. And afterall I still have Elements if I wish to do someting LR can't do.

How it's going to be with ACR when I import my RAWs to LR i have not figured out yet. When I use Elements the ACR opens automatic, but with LR perhaps ACR not is necessary?

Any risk for uploading problems (Filezilla) when I change to LR? I dont think so as the files still are on my HD (LR just handles them).

There's no risk att all. LR can be a little strange to begin, the file management is different from other programs. You wlll find out sometimes in future, that you will need even PS for the final finish of your pictures.
Hope, I will see more of your fine pictures from land on MostPhotos!

LR replaces Bridge and ACR, you dont need it for LR as it has its own RAW file handler.

LR is an alternative to Bridge & ACR, not a replacement. Just sayin' :)

I know, wrong wording. I meant what you said.

If I had the choice between elements and LR for my workflow .. I would go to LR without a second thought.
