Anyone had an email from iStock marked as an ADAGP Payback. It reads as follows:

Dear Contributor,

We are a member of a collecting society in France called ADAGP (Socit Des Auteurs dans les Arts Graphiques et Plastiques) and are registered to be part of their payback.

For us to be able to redistribute the royalties they have paid to us for your content, we need you to sign the attached authorisation form.

Please e-sign and complete the document in DocuSign before October 31, 2018.

I removed myself from iStock nearly a year ago. Just wondering if it's possibly a scam.

Well ADAGP is genuine (I guess you checked that)

Is the email address from istock genuine?  If so I'd go ahead and sign.

However iStock should have made it clear you could make the claim to ADAGP directly.

Like I do with DACS (a British collection agency) as no doubt iStock will take a big wet bite out of the secondary royalty claim.

The email address is dse_na2@docusign.net which relates to the link in the email.

Seems a bit fishy to me, but equally if there's money to be had  :-\

This email address doesn't seem legit, maybe try messaging iStock about it... and you should probably delete the document if you've downloaded it on your machine.

Now I see, Getty and distribution and France, I won't be getting the form.  :)

What Adagp does for you ?

Adagp (Auteurs Dans les Arts Graphiques et Plastiques) is the collecting society with the most representative catalogue in the world of visual arts. It currently represents more than 130,000 French and foreign artists in more than 30 disciplines.

Adagp defends and manages your rights in France and abroad thanks to its network of almost 50 sister companies who collect royalties on works in the country where they operate.

For its part, ADAGP, represents the artists from these countries in France.

In the countries where it does not have sister companies to represent it, ADAGP acts directly with local users.

Painters, sculptors, engravers, performers, artists, photographers, illustrators, childrens illustrators, architects, designers, cartoonists, poster artists

Yep, got that. For some reason, only certain people got the email: maybe those who sold most in France (?).

Docusign.net is ligit, I think that if you reply to that email it will email the one who send it do you (if you got to www.docusign.net it brings you to the real docusign.com website which is legit). Doesn't seem to be a scam to me.
