Hi to everyone,
This is only my second post since I originally found this site about a year
ago, but like many others I read many of the post from others and try to obtain as much info as possible. Now to my reason for the post.
I would like to receive advice, comments and ideas on how to best
sell my images on different sites. I have about  120 images spread out to about 12 different sites.
My time at the moment is limited for shooting and processing eventhough I have been going to Mexico and have captured many images with many been stock oriented. I would like to add about 10 per week to my portfolio.
It seems that on SS I get most of the sales which is logical because of their market approach but on other sites the sales are lower.
Now this is my dilemma I seem to have the same images on all of the sites. Should I:
a. Upload more exclusive material to sites like istock and geckostock
images that are not available on SS possibly even removing some from SS
b. Concentrate on SS and work on volume to add sales
c. Reduce the amount of sites to maybe 4
I'm not trying to go pro anytime soon, just enjoin this partime experience. But maybe in time who knows!
Thanks for taking time to suggest ideas and thoughts
Jorge

Hi Jorge,

SS is good short time investment, however, it seems that IS in the longterm is more profitable. But I do not understnad why you would want to remove images from SS to put them on IS? To have similar images on several sites is not bad, it is good, because you will get more income. I doubt that each customer is going shopping on several different agencies. If you do not have time, I would focus on the Big six to the right and upload every image on to each of them, except Bigstock.

If you have even less time I would go exclusive with IS although it has the upload process with the most hassle.

It's a matter of opinion.  Different people do better on some sites than on others.  I don't do well on Bigstock, but I get really good sales at Istock and SS with the same pictures.  If you've made a payout on BS in a short time, then by all means continue uploading there and continue uploading  to all the other sites where you seem to be getting steady sales.  If you have the time available, it's best to upload everywhere you can where you get decent sales.  It's nearly impossible to predict what will sell better at which site---just upload everything everywhere!  Then after a while decide which sites are your best-sellers, which ones will work for you, and stick with them.

Jorge, sorry probably I am to much biased about BS. My earnings at BS makes it not worthy to invest time there. Others might make more there, if you do, go one submitting to them!
I agree with HughStoneIan. But generally I would focuse on the Big 6.

I am also uploading to Lucky Oliver, because I like their model and they are refreshing unique. Now I also started with Crestock, to check out their site.

Just to let you know, the top microstock photographers, besides the Istock exclusives submit to several site. I think Yuris Arcus to 16 as far as I know.

Thank You for taking more time to add to my question.
I think I will continue adding to all the ones that presently I am on.
My whole deal was that I thought that having my pics at SS I was not
allowing for more sales on the other sites. My reasoning is that designers would see an image for lets say 1.50 in one site and simply jump over to SS and using there subscription just purchase it that way.
Maybe I am not fully aware of the procedures used by the ad agencies
in obtaining there raw material for their work. BS has been pretty good to me as far as acceptance ratio and downloads.
Thanks again, I appreciate your time.

... I think Yuris Arcus to 16 as far as I know.
I'd bet that he has a dedicated person to do keywording and uploading. I currently upload to seven sites, which takes about half of my working day - way too long.

Like freezingpics, I upload to BigStock, but have yet to see it earn me any significant money. I've narrowed my portfolio to include only another few hundred images to upload to them - if things don't pick up by the end of the year I'll most likely abandon them in favor of 123.

I recently began uploading to Crestock after abandoning them - their upload process is streamlined enough to make it almost pain-free. I'll upload a few hundred images to them so that I can reach a payout before calling it quits with them.
