Hi,

I got a message thru Instagram seeing if I wanted to join stockphoto.com with a free monetary bonus on signing up. Has scam written all over it.

But going to the site and not clicking link seems to show its legit. Anyone have experience of this?

I also got a invite through IG and i was a bit skeptical. I loaded a few and saw i got two 30 Cents sales. I am just not sure how credible they are or if this is another site trying to draw users in and then sell through the main sites in bulk through our portfolios

I should add a load of my images are there already and linked to DepositPhotos

Thanks. The offer seemed to good to be true. $500 payout is rediculous also. Worth asking on here I thought

Maybe these threads about this agency (the one in the SS forum about the same offer) might be of some help:

Personally I think an Stock agency that is looking that desperately for contributors can't be doing too well and is probably not worth your time.
Also, my photos are also up there through Depositephotos and a contributor at the SS forum mentions that she got an invite from them a long time ago, but when they noticed that her images were there already through Depositephotos, the port was pulled again? It doesn't seem to make much sense to want contributors to sign up when they already have their ports through Depositephotso, but don't want their images in their database twice.

Thanks so much for your time to add this. I did search in the forums here and found nothing. Im with 12 agencies so have no issues just adding one more. Im always scared that an agency will somehow rip your images and never see them again

The only way, if at least sales there are okay, then we should upload to stockphoto.com first and afterwards to deposit and we would get more revenue instead of selling there via deposit. that was my plan for clipdealer, too instead of uploading first to 123RF. But we all know, why clipdealer is not worth it!

Same like agefoto first, then to alamy. Getting paid from agefoto and what agefoto does with our photos is also worst ever. but getting sales on agefotos via alamy might not making that problems if we upload directly to agefoto.

Its super odd how the connect to your shared folders on ONedrivbe and Google etc. You dont seem to actually upload to them. They just access your Onedrive and list the keywords

This comes around from time to time. I don't know where they scrape the names off the Internet. But stockphotos.com has been inviting people for years.

I'm not interested, I'm not joining, I don't have a DP account, and all the rest of the reasons I don't care.  ;) But he is running a legitimate effort and it has been around for many years.

Not a scam.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not going to upload there, just that the site is legitimate and interesting.  :)

If you do a search there are other articles including I think a blog post by the guy who bought the name, about how he spent the quarter million dollars on a domain name.

Interesting that he says he was turning a profit early on. I suppose the traffic alone, if he has ads and the search placement, helped him along. I admit I was one who posted jokes back when it was announced that someone paid that for a stock photo domain name. I might still make some jokes some day.  ;D

Maybe someone else who does upload there, can give you some real life experience. I don't understand the whole partner thing or what the site pays. I'm not that interested. I guess Leaf wasn't either? I don't see it on the site list on the right.

Hi,

I uploaded my files to stockphoto.com and got some sales over the first 2-3 months, at least i could see that they have made sales. Unfortunately after the 4th month my sales are 0. Considering the amount of file I've had online there, I represented some 5% of their portfolio. Nevertheless, after the 5th month i cannot even log into the site and check what is going on. At the beginning i had active communication with some guy named Lauren from support team but after i canno5t login, there has been no reply from him or anybody else. also, his initial signature is "Lauren Clarke, Support Team Lead" but on my last email his signature is "Lauren Clarke, Support Fraud Team Lead", which is somewhat odd. My portfolio is still there and if he is selling, he is not paying for it. What a fraudulent behavior!

Definitely scam, no question about it.

Wow you have 6,500,000 images on Stockphoto.com? That's 5%

Hi, I've been selling my images on stockphoto.com for a few months and then for the last 6 months not a single sale.

I contacted the support that I would like to delete my account. I asked them what shall I not to lose money I earned so far. I did not receive any reply despite the fact that I was asking several times. Earlier they were replying.

I contacted also Jon Yau (founder of stockphoto) on facebook and surprise surprise - no reply.

As for me this is a scam.

I have just deleted my account but my images are still available and no link to an author is visible. This is crazy. Could you pleased advise what can I do to prevent selling my images by them?

stockphoto.com is a partner website of Depositphotos, so I contacted Depositphotos today and I asked them to exclude my portfolio from this partner program.
