Thanks for sharing Alex.

You're a day early, and you might have missed the Instant Pay sales Wirestock just threw in.
I got a bunch of 3.4$ commissions and I guess I'm not the only one, so you might want to check your balance again.

Noticed you compared August 2021 to July 2021. Why not compare August 2021 to August 2020 instead?

That's a fair point. The Adobe Stock upfront payment program skews results*.

But in any case, the following are my results for the past few Augusts:

August 2019: $1,075
August 2020: $524
August 2021: $798*

actual numbers of the future?

playing the devil's advocate here--- the few, low selling, images that were selected could lure in a new buyer that will then check out the rest of my portfolio. I have some buyers that check on my new material often since they like my style.  I was happy that these free images will only be out of commission for one year. When I first got into the business I was foolish enough to submit some of my best sellers as free images forever on a particular site (Canstock) that give away the image over 5,000 times. That one image cost me a lot in lost $$$$...

That's wishful thinking.

In reality, if someone is lured by free photos, that person is not a "buyer" anymore, but a "free(down)loader".

It's more much more likely that a free(down)loader will rather look for more free downloads from others, instead of buying your stuff.  ;)

Perhaps! What is real is the $ now and whatever is in the future is purely hypothetical :)

What makes me happy is that AS selected images, in my case, which barely sell anyway on all agencies, so even $5 for them to turn into vinegar thereafter is a fortune for me since most are so past their shelf-life / usefulness (see graph below).

I put together some of my thoughts on this new business model here (if you haven't already checked it out):

Nice article snd while we don't know what lies in future but currently it seems true what the author describes in this article.
But we a should also consider that while getty is solely a stock photo/video sites and (if I'm not wrong), but Adobe is not just a stock site and it's main business is softwares (that will probably never die even if whole stock market dies) and you know why. But getty will do what ever possible to save its stock business that may include further cutting contributors or buying other free image sites. ( that's why I prefer to stick with bigger ship Getty)
I don't count SS any more (actually never counted it before also) people did earned from ss but its 25 cents subscription model never attracted me.. But yeas as I said ppl did enjoyed it until the last drop of their port... Some still so but dunno why I feel ss has come to and end.. At least for contributors.. Even their forum is full of spams and nobody from moderators of ss care...
Last night I was looking the pixabay images and videos and many of them are really nice and would have earned some good sum from stock sites. If people can get those quality of images  for free then why would they pay for similar images until they need very specific subject.
Now I feel ppl are doing right by giving away their images in Adobe for a year for  5 $.

A few words of wisdom that might come in handy, for your future blogs:  ;D

You will make better decisions once you begin thinking long-term rather than short-term.

"Ignoring the facts for short-term gain will almost always bring long-term pain"

"You can't build long-term future, with short term thinking"

"It is human nature to seek instant gratification and empty pleasures even when we know it is wrong."

etc, etc, etc...  :-*

I agree but it applies only when things are only in your hands. Do you think everyone thinks the same? No..
If it was the case then why nobody disregarded when ss 1st started with subscription model.. At that time also many rejected this system saying it will kill.. . Yes it did kill the stock industry gradually but everyone at that time sooner or later, joined ss praising it. And hence later every other stock agency started its own subscription models.. Was it stopped by anyone... No? But yes people did get their share of earning as long as it was possible..
Now also many of us Wil reject and blame Adobe's free collection but as you see.. Most of stock photographer will join it. And take it.. No one can stop this  trend once started.
What happened when SS started 10 cents payment system recently.. Many removed their port.. That's it.. Anything stopped.. No.
It's because this thing is not in one's hand. I sympathise with your intention and I am not with Adobe but this thing is unstoppable.. If not you then many others will join it. So  in my view its OK if people putting their images in free collection for 5 bulks per image.
Collapse of this whole micro stock industry is inevitable

I agree that there are free loafers looking for only free images--- hopefully not a large percentage. These free loafers have been here since day one and will never go away...
