About the "status" you'll have to ask each particular agency. I would presume changing the moniker doesn't do anything with how you are viewed by the agency. They see you as an individual with some sort of government issued ID anyway. So you'll probably remain at whatever your current earning rank is.
Would that affect your discoverability by customers? That would be an interesting experiment to do. I suspect if the sales drop, then not by much, most customers search for what they need by keywords, not by the name of the portfolio. How about not changing all the accounts at once. "Test it first in an inconspicuous spot" so to speak. Change it for one agency, see what happens.
